or am I misremembering that because I don't remember that shit being tied to MLP.
I'm not sure. Since the Russia-Ukraine war started, it was used by the pro-Ukraine camp to refer to Russians because they had Z as a marking on their vehicles. I assume the /mlp/ connection is just calling them niggers because they're from Africa. Idk maybe the zebras rap or twerk in MLP. I haven't actually seen it.

Didn't madagascar or the guy that voiced the zebra in Madagascar use the term Zigger a few times or am I misremembering that because I don't remember that shit being tied to MLP.

Also I can't believe they did habbo raid shit at a my little pony convention and have pics of it as some super scary antisemitic thing lmao
zigger can either be slang for russians/vatniks or gen z depending on context

This thread and recent events are very depressing for somebody who has put a lot of effort into Wikipedia over the years. There are so many niche subjects that are totally divorced from politics because leftists mostly shrivel up and die when they consider them intellectually - medieval history being one, these people chastising Sanger could not care less except to shoehorn some random BS about Africans into the article.

It's a labor of love, and indeed an art form, to research a topic you are truly passionate about, purchase and read books relating to it, and craft a Wikipedia article in which each and every sentence could come under potential challenge or attack. Creating an unimpeachable article is a great feeling, especially when the topic hasn't been covered elsewhere on the public Internet and you've synthesized a fresh article out of various printed sources. And when you know that the vast majority of people searching the topic will be reading your writing by default. I suspect that's where a large part of this Wikipedia "professional editor" (give me a fucking break) power and ego obsession comes from.

I can happily say that many editors I've encountered in my specific field are wholly focused on providing accurate and informative articles to the reading public. Many of them actually seem to be older White men, which again is unsurprising given the subject matter. The quality of these articles and discussion thereof is correspondingly higher than the shitting street garbage elsewhere on the site.

It's practically impossible to engage with the wider community. If you'd like to edit Wikipedia today and you have more than a single HRT-soaked brain cell, I would recommend picking a subject that you really enjoy, and then making damn sure that nobody can challenge your citations.

The article about jerking off to MLP is longer than the one about racism on the internet. What does it take to get a little recognition?

Catching up to the thread, I had a chuckle to myself about those of you who didn't know about how rules work on Wikipedia.

There are quite literally thousands of rules (between hard rules and "guidelines") on Wikipedia, which all overlap and contradict each other constantly. They all are structured in the form of indecipherable acronyms (WP: MOSFAGGOT) or incredibly broad catch phrases (WP: Don't be heckin evil).

If you are editing an article and trying to engage in discussion in good faith, some random troon will come in and start spamming technicalities on you like it's naruto ninja techniques. "Erm consensus. Erm rfc. Erm three revert rule. Erm that source is not valid for reasons. Erm the formatting of your edit was wrong and now you cannot ever put it back or you're vandalizing." They'll pretty much never engage with the actual substance of what you're saying because they can overwhelm you with technicalities until you get aggravated, then report you to admins for being "Uncivil" and get you banned. They'll also spam your user page with warning threats to build a case against you -- "See mr admin? I was just trying to guide this editor and help him not break the rules but he wouldn't stop. off with his head *gawk gawk gawk*".

The cherry on top is if you mention to the admins how this person was antagonizing you the admins will treat them with absolute kid gloves "oh this is a long time contributor. I admit that they angrily called this editor an evil buffoonic moron with no value on thsi earth but they're important to the project so we give them a pass. What's that, this is the 3rd conflict they've had with an editor this week? ok, give them a one hour ban." UNLESS they say trannies are not real women, then they will remove the most respected long time admins and contributors within 3 pico seconds.

The strongest Wikipedia warriors know exactly how to block any edit or editor with an esoteric rule for any given situation and will immediately escalate you to admins if you try to fight back. The whole system is designed to block out "wrong thinkers" so that the autistic power users can maintain absolute control. Sanger being banned with some random rule is the least surprising thing I've seen all day.

Wikipedia is notoriously unreliable when it comes to sensitive topics like politics and certain parts of history, WW2 being the most glaring example, along with the Frankfurt School's "Long March Through The Institutions". The wiki page on Cultural Marxism is laughable compared to 2014. To say the page has been heavily sanitised is an understatement.

I also remember when some moderators were summoned, sorry "invited" to Israel to meet with several rabbis because they were unhappy about the way zionism was portrayed on the platform. In other words it was unfiltered truth, with little or no jewish bias.

I knew it was over for the site at that point.

Again with this “Wikipedia mascot as an example for a weird sex thing” shit? Except now it’s a goddamn Wikipedia MLP pony in blatantly sexual situations! Not to mention that the normal human version of Wikipe-tan is obviously meant to be a loli.
