Very unlikely, Doug isn't rich and doesn't ferry rich people and is an unlikable asshole whom literally no one on this planet will mourn or think about after he's gone. I expect any official Coast Guard report on the sinking will be the maritime equivalent of "lol boomer faggot" and no one will even bother to FOIA it.

Sort of. Oceangate’s CEO was almost a stereotypical narcissist but he was trying to pioneer something genuine (in his case, the folly of carbon-fiber). Doug with his tourist now science ship is playing catch up with actual ship designers and scientists so he is more like Donald Crowhurst playing up to a likely deadly game

Reddit user Insideinfo2026, a member of the Caribbean Cetacean Society , has joined the r/SVSeeker_Free subreddit to spill the beans. This user has apparently been confirmed to be a member of CCS via private messages showing photos from the boat.

Unsurprisingly, Doug and Carol were unprofessional and drunk, the boat was falling apart, Doug was unable to maneuver the boat. Surprisingly, Carol was hiding food from the crew; if they were seasick, they were not allowed to eat.

The CCS is apparently working on tell-all report of their experience working with Doug's Sea Chest Foundation, to be released eventually.
