I mean, I usually go on vacation. With my friends and relatives, but I have a lifetime passed from when I was eight years old, so. I mean, I really don't see the point of going to Disneyland unless you have kids. Personally, if I want to go to a theme park as an adult, I prefer Cedar Point.
It’s usually. Few years of saving for us. I actually prefer to go to Universal in Orlando.

We went in 2017 when my daughters were very young, we were also treated to this trip by a family friend (I would never have paid for this myself). With them being so little it was actually a great trip as they were excite by all of it. Now that they are older they would absolutely hate it as they love our current family trips that involve the mountains and outdoors.

In 2017, the park attendees were still largely white and I remember being struck with how little "trash" was in attendance. I understand that it is not this way anymore. The youtube disney adults were still largely unknown 10 years ago but the families we went with were attending Disney once if not more times a year and we couldnt understand it then.

Another thing is that in 2017, they hadnt changed all the classic rides yet and the cultural destruction starting with the hysteria of 2016 was just starting to be clearly seen.

I think if alcohol was taken out of the park, like it should, the Disney Adult would likely be staved off somewhat.
It’s there for the amount of people who are only in Orlando for a work convention and end up need help maintaining the corporate approved level of fun during the “excursions”. It’d probably be a massive push in a family friendly direction.

Not adult related but my god…. Please, PLEASE LET THIS BE REAL

Jennifer, the OP, also insists that she goes to Disney for the “thrill rides”, and not parks with more interesting adult rides like Universal Studios.
Let's pretend Disney has better rides for a second. You would still spend more time actually riding the rides at Universal than you would at Disney. Like I've said a million times before, the only thing I remember about going to Disney World for my 10th birthday is how much worse than Universal it was.

The only thing Disney really has going for it is the costumed characters walking around for little girls (and womanchildren), because even if they have Trolls and whatever its hard to beat the princesses, but if they manage to get kpop demon hunters or something into the park even that aspect wont be as special to Disney specifically anymore

ngl Uni's SCREENS EVERYWHERE really eats
like that old slogan of "RIDE THE MOVIES" nah the printing guys messed that up
RIDE, THE MOVIES
you sit in the damn car, they shake you around and slop you in front of a screen, some shit happens while your car shakes and then sometimes they slop you in front of a different screen

Only reason I wanted to go again when I got older was to re-experience the Tower of Terror but when I learned they replaced with with some Guardians of the Galaxy themed shit, I lost a lot of the interest I had. Only other reason I would go is for the Cars stuff but even that doesn't feel worth the money.
I was so mad when I found out about this, the hotel was gorgeous. 100% the best thematic ride. It's so sad a spooky, timeless, icon of the park had to get scraped for Marvel slop.

It's nice to know that among the people I associate with and the communities I'm a part of that this opinion seems universal. A streamer I watch got into ranking Disney rides and he also had some Very Strong Opinions about such an iconic ride being turned into ha ha funny raccoon GROOT capeshit.

I kind of feel like disney has quietly dropped the sequel timeline for years now. Like how many shows and games have come out in the last 5-10 years that is either set during or connected to the sequel timeline compared to ones made in prequel and original era?

Like most of the disney shows that been coming out been set during original trilogy timeline with some of them after episode 6. Such as mandolorian and ashoka, but even they don't feel connected to the sequel timeline.

The new baby yoda movie to me doesn't look promising either, but it might still do well? Cause people went crazy for baby yoda years ago and I don't know how crazy chinese/asian market go for the new film over western markets.

The sequel trilogy did piss poor numbers in China. Can't imagine any new ones would appeal to them.

I'm seeing some hype for the Mandalorian movie in the wild. Not much. But more than all the other series that have been crapped out in the past few years. Baby Yoda is still popular enough, I guess.

While we're on the topic of changes made to the Disney parks, I can list some of my personal least favorites:

Changing Splash Mountain from Song of the South into a half-baked....thing from Princess and the Frog. They didn't even bring back the voodoo wizard guy for it, dang it.

Making a section in the Magic Kingdom dedicated to villains. The villains get a place pretty much anywhere in the park already. That's like a theme park version of Malevolands from Toonstruck. Nobody asked for it, nobody wanted it.

The permanent Star Wars theming of Space Mountain in France. There really wasn't any good reason to get rid of the De la Terre à la Lune theming in the first place, the re-theming from mission 2 to Star Wars was a million times more pointless.

In general, Disney's reluctance to create new original ideas for theme park rides instead of stuff based on existing Disney movies or TV shows is really stupid.

I'll gladly accept my puzzle piece stickers.

I wonder how the average black person feels about libs in charge forcibly making anything involving black people/characters as boring as is humanly possible

Nope, give me new characters, I’m so sorry but whenever they revived old nostalgia stuff it is masturbatory. Maybe expand on the universe and base it off of the thousands of world building books of the franchise so the autists that were upset Disney disregarded that media can be at peace.
