I think she would have benefited from being part of a team. Teen Titans skipped her and so did YJ. JLU had her but she was rarely featured. Team shows do miracles for such characters. Just look at the TTs that aren't Robin.
And made it worse. The villain was less evil in the comic and was to get redeemed. They failed to notice that, thought that he died, decided to make him even more evil to justify killing him and that is how we got here.
Punk works too. She has aggressive eyes so she can pull of a more intimidating look. That doesn't look very much like the Supergirl character but we are past that point. But there is another look that could work for Supergirl: Athletic, energetic, cheerful tomboy. I didn't include it because Milly can't play it but it would work for Supergirl.
Younger works. They are aiming for long term. It was too soon for Supergirl though.
Not fetish. More like juvenile humor. Gunn is an edgy middle schooler.
Don't forget that theaters take their cut too.
DC wants everything too fast. It is the same issue the Snyderverse had. First movie: Superman. Second movie: second or third act spin-off/crossover.

I like how in the climax, Josh seals the Anti-Life equation away by sending it to an unspecified (although presumably the Ethan Ralph) Kiwi Farms thread. There has been times in the DC canon, where concentrated pure evil cancels out the Anti-Life-Equation's power (last time it happened I believe was that shitty Darkseid War arc). Grok cared more about canon than the current James Gunn-verse writers did!
50-50. They might fire him but they also might replace him with a guy who is just as stupid.
They tried to follow the Marvel recipe only they switched out the ingredients. This time, Gunn made way too many controversial decisions. Always in the news for something bad.
Or they might fold DC Studios into Paramount Pictures along with Warner’s distribution and marketing units. I could see them just sticking with Robert Pattinson Batman instead like WB did with Nolan’s Batman movies aside from Snyder’s Watchmen and a couple of one off movies and failed startups like Ryan Reynolds’s Green Lantern, which was supposed to launch a DC cinematic universe before it bombed and tried again with Man of Steel.
So against better judgement, I saw the Supergirl movie
...was the movie's production like, a money laundering front or something? 'cause I don't think I've ever seen a major studio release be so unwatchable. & I mean that quite literally - the action shots were all dark/murky/backlit to hell and only visible in short bursts. Watching the film triggered an awful migraine. Lobo was the best part, and he was barely in it/felt edited in after bad test screenings. Krypto's cgi got progressively worse as the film went on - he literally looked like a Nintendog towards the end:

Also, can't believe I have to even type this - there's waaaay too many pee jokes in this film, to the point where I wondered if someone on the production had a pee fetish.
TLDR, I'm sure as many others have said in this thread, save your money. Heck, don't save your money - even blowing it on something dumb like scratch off lotto tickets, would be a better use than seeing Supergirl.
