So for the couple in question to be blocked from the CGEB they would both have to be working 30-35 hour work weeks to not qualify which is insane

Getting your firearms license isn't exactly difficult outside of time and money. Spend ~6-8 hours in a course, pass a couple of tests, fire off a request for approval, and most people receive their license within a few months. As long as you're licensed you're free to buy any non-restricted piece and ammunition.

The more fun consideration is if this kid was already flagged in some way by the cops. Every license holder is run through a background check every 24 hours on average, and the RCMP love holding up any license request if they so much as think you're hiding something (or your references bad mouth you). Unless this kid was absolutely clean up until this point he would, much like the Tumbler Ridge tranny, already be on a watch list. Might be another reason beyond death by female cop this incident gets buried in a week or so, because the RCMP do not like questions about their competency.

Biggest hurdle is they call your wife and any former partners to make sure they aren't giving firearms to a wifebeater.

I know these people are retarded grifters that seemingly just want to destroy the country but they don't actually believe the things they say, right? They couldn't possibly? When asked "why would the best talent from anywhere come to Canada specifically" after getting a run-around of weaselwords that mean nothing for 20 minutes the final "answer" will be "erm, Trump bad obviously??". There isn't a SINGLE definable reason ANYONE would want to come to Canada outside of their country being even shittier or it's literally their only option. And people in legitimate third world countries are recognizing and publicly stating the first one isn't even true anymore.

You have to love what a historic, epic win this is when really it's just nothing at the end of the day but he's all over the TV talking about how finally canadians can eat, when it equals out to like a quarter of one grocery bill, once which doesn't at all equal out the extortionate food pricing.

It only goes to people who are making nothing, in which case the extra $300 (or whatever it is) over a year will do nothing if they actually need money, and if they don't need money then it's just free gimmes to the parasites. Everyone else, most of whom DO need more help because they're in that zone where they spend literally everything (plus more) just to exist but are "too rich" for any type of extra help (one example a lot of jobs offer shittier dental coverage than that new government one, but if you have ANY version you're cut off from it so you STILL end up fucked). Then on the other hand this is costing taxpayers a few billion dollars, which also means it's impossible to extend to the people that actually need it because another $20 billion in debt is incredible.

I guess it's better than nothing? But to parade it around as a smug win is embarrassing shit, when it's directly their fault everyone is scrambling with hands out for fucking $12 in the first place after destroying (and continuing to) everything
