Ask men why they do things the way they do and maybe you'll get an honest answer

I don't know, but I suspect Mary Wollstonecraft and predecessors were not pro-trans.
Well, we don't know because it didn't exist back then.

But people like Simone De Beauvoir, Kate Millet and even Betty Frieden likely would have considering that they often said gender roles were a "social construct" and other types of societal norms regarding men and women which eventually led to the whole "gender is a social construct" fiasco.

And yet that's what they did.
No. Women are still discriminated against.
Everybody faces discrimination for varying reasons from varying sources. Welcome to humanity.
Keep laughing as you grow more and more bitter and fall further and further behind because you refuse to or cannot pivot.
Ironic

And yet that's what they did.
Absolutely false.

Everybody faces discrimination for varying reasons from varying sources. Welcome to humanity.
You missed the point, poindexter.

Not at all.

Well, we don't know because it didn't exist back then.
Mary Wollstonecraft is the mother of modern feminism. Selected purposefully.

If you like, we can go back to Plato or Stoic Gaius Musonius Rufus, to pick a few, but Mary's work is a tighter through-put to modern feminism.

But people like Simone De Beauvoir, Kate Millet and even Betty Frieden likely would have considering that they often said gender roles were a "social construct" and other types of societal norms regarding men and women which eventually led to the whole "gender is a social construct" fiasco.
God, this fucking thread.

1. De Beauvoir, Millet, and Betty FriedAn were not even first-wave feminists of the 20th century. Try again.
2. Applying current-day terminology, concepts, and milieu to past-day people is ahistorical and dumb.

God, this fucking thread
You are in the ask men thread. You will hear things that upset you that you can't HR Karen away.
Everybody faces discrimination for varying reasons from varying sources. Welcome to humhumanity
It is strange how this is a hard concept. Everyone is discriminated against. Tall people are discriminated by door frames, short people are discriminated by the upper shelf. And yet we don't have a movement to fix that. Why? You learn to move along with your struggle. Nobody deserves a handout.

I have a whole theory about why conspicuously tall guys seem to be overrepresented in the MtF population. I think it's got to do with how the importance of height is so exaggerated in incel type communities. So severely undersocialized men assume that being 6'4" is basically the male equivalent of having big boobs naturally without being fat ...
which it kind of is, except women don't initiate as much as men and if you don't get out much you're likely to miss those signs from someone who might be into you. So they think it's all wrong and in their despair over tfw no gf, they decide to become the girlfriend. I dunno, I could be pulling shit out of my ass and there could be a very well researched post in Stinkditch elaborating on it.
As a tall lad myself, agreed on all of this. Unfortunately, nearly all women are annoyingly stubborn about initiating so we always have to do it, even when they're very interested. And some women really get off to height, even if you're an ugly fucker. The downside with height is that it's also easier to scare and intimidate others, so finding women with that height niche can be tricky.

You are in the ask men thread. You will hear things that upset you that you can't HR Karen away.
Did I ask anyone to stop? I did not. It is merely annoying to have school people mouthing off about things they clearly know nothing about.

Standard-height door frames* and shelves scaled for optimized capacity aren't discriminating against anyone. Aside from the fact that those are inanimate objects incapable of discriminating against anyone 🧩, which "movements" are laser-focused on those things?

* Standard door frame is 6'8". 0.0001% to 0.001% of the adult population exceeds that height.

You learn to move along with your struggle.
Exactly, partly. So the men whining about how they're just completely fucked because women are allowed out of the house and subsequently outperform them at work and are rewarded for it should put a cork in it.

De Beauvoir, Millet, and Betty FriedAn were not even first-wave feminists of the 20th century. Try again.
No, they weren't.
So what? They were still huge influential figures in Feminism that influenced 2nd wave feminism, which is the the feminism that was highly influential of the Terf/alt feminist (I guess you could call) brand that you and others like you on this site and Twitter subscribe too.
The brand that you subscribe too is arguably more related to the 2nd wave than the 1st wave.

2. Applying current-day terminology, concepts, and milieu to past-day people is ahistorical and dumb.
Not really when they were literally the people that invented the 1st iteration of the terminologies and concepts that we are talking about.

Ok Ms. Crabapple

Maybe they would if every feminist didn't treat them like dirt and treat masculinity as the eternal sin. And maybe by throwing their reasonable concerns out, you drive them to more irrational and retarded takes.

No, they weren't.
So what?
Because the comment I was replying to specifically referred to "the first ones."

They were still huge influential figures in Feminism that influenced 2nd wave feminism,
They were 2nd wave.

I don't subscribe to that. Check your notes.

Not really when they were literally the people that invented the 1st iteration of the terminologies and concepts that we are talking about.
Nope. What someone said +/- 60 years ago (70+, in De Beauvoir's case) at and in that time cannot be mapped to today's usage. People on both sides of the question may want it to be so, but it is, again, ahistorical retrofitting.
Ok Ms. Crabapple

And like that the entire point went over your head.
It didn't; it wasn't a relevant or persuasive point because it was wrong,

Maybe they would if every feminist didn't treat them like dirt and treat masculinity as the eternal sin.
I don't. So not "every."

And maybe by throwing their reasonable concerns out, you drive them to more irrational and retarded takes.
No. Irrationality and retardation are not responsible nor excusable responses to self-imposed victimhood and assumption. There is nothing "reasonable" about "women should not be allowed in the workplace," nor that "all women are lazy goldbrickers who need to step aside so I can be a goldbricker in their place, and if they don't I am justified in plotting murder." Nothing is stopping men as a class from competing. And if these bitter, angry men were rational in the least (even if not actually rational, but at least intellectually consistent), they'd have the same vindictiveness towards all the other men who out-compete them - but they don't. For this certain subset, a couple of whom have engaged here*, it's about women, very specifically - because they believe that can't get fucked by one and refuse to understand that no one is promised a rose garden.

* Eta - maybe here, maybe in some other thread with similar themes going on.

It's OK to say you didn't get it, it's not a test.
I don't. So not "every."
You are right now.

You have no idea what I actually said, holy shit. You did assume though. This was insightful.

It's OK to say you didn't get it, it's not a test.
Like I said, nothing to get.

You are right now.
Nope. Show me where I treated anyone like dirt or proclaimed masculinity a sin.

You have no idea what I actually said, holy shit. You did assume though. This was insightful.
I know what you said. Sorry I didn't spell out that I was going to be pointing out your wrongness by referring to what has literally been being said - because facts matter. I'll try to leave more bread crumbs next time! Maybe.

The bitterness speaks volumes. The arrogance. Feminism demands respect it never earned, at the barrel of a gun, guns that womens groups constantly try to ban. People like you destroyed the boy scouts. I was the last generation that could honestly say they lived it. And for that, you won't be forgiven. You come off as very insecure and I feel sorry for you. You know your position is built on sand, but admitting it would mean admitting a whole lot more than that.

The bitterness speaks volumes.
You appear to have a comprehension problem, young sir.

Non sequitur!

People like you destroyed the boy scouts. I was the last generation that could honestly say they lived it.
I love the boy scouts as an organization and support them fully. And I have have done zero to impact them. What are you even talking about? As ever, your efforts to joust are generic and non-fact-based.

And for that, you won't be forgiven.
Lol, for what? Goofball.

You come off as very insecure and I feel sorry for you.
Did this work in elementary school? Or did you just think it did?

You know your position is built on sand, but admitting it would mean admitting a whole lot more than that.
What position is that that is built on sand, please?

I feel really bad for you when you try to dunk.

But speaking of castles in the sand, what have you done to improve the world around you? Kids? Home? Community involvement? Volunteer to help those who can't do it themselves? Pay enough taxes to support yourself in your old age? Served in the military? Helped someone struggling? Not cheated on your partner?

Lots of flailing. Good. Feminists and other alphabet retards sued and sued to let the gays and girls into the scouts for fairness. Now they're going fucking bankrupt. Don't try to tell me what happened, I was there. Feminists ruined something special for a lot of young men, because it was never enough.

I've never cheated on anyone I've dated, I've been involved in my community heavily, volunteered, pay my taxes, have a job- yeah, I'm a real deadbeat. That last part was sarcasm.

Lots of flailing.
:optimistic:

Got nothing to do with me.

Don't try to tell me what happened, I was there.
Dude, I'm probably at least 1.5x your age. I was there before you were there.

Feminists ruined something special for a lot of young men, because it was never enough.
Again, I had nothing to do with that, materially or theoretically. "Don't try to tell me what happened."

I've never cheated on anyone I've dated,
Lol, dang it, I confused you AGAIN with another poster. My bad! Personal (only) criticism retracted. 🙂

You can't be a feminist and then say "not me". The actions of one are upon the entire group. That is by the feminist rulebook, so I must hold you to that standard

Wow, classy.

OK, commie.

You know nothing.

Wow, classy.
Yes, admitting an error and pulling back unwarranted criticism is the elegant thing to do. You should try it.

Can you two take this to the feminism sperging thread or something? You're taking up the whole thread.
Please feel free to right the ship with a new topic!

Just take a minute to realize. You're arguing with someone who believes in magic underwear.
