Those of you on here who know me relatively well are aware that I am a sucker for the 1950's/1960's era "space age" futurism aesthetic. I have some Jetson's-looking metal "starburst" decorations on one of the walls of my apartment that you can get from a décor company called Blulu.

Would this be where to post the porcelain things on one's welsh dresser? Or is that less "adult novelty" and more "biddy"?
Likewise, would this be where to post the curio cabinet collection, or is the Gobbocore thread more suited?

(sorry for photo quality, my hands are shaky at the best of times but this cold is certainly not helping)
You can certainly post them here. I love the little cup.

Show me some more of this "50's/60's space age" aesthetic, I'm interested.

I'm torn between winner and horrifying and lol.

That's both awesome and hideous. I love it.

Add me to the list of kiwis in love with Mrs. Meyer's cleaners. I'm a sucker for that seasonal feeling whenever the new scents show up in the grocery store. Last week I picked up the Rose multi-purpose cleaner just in time for my supply of Snowdrop to run out today. Mad that nobody near me seems to stock their hand lotions.

I like browsing Uncommon Goods to see all the random novelties available that I never would have thought of. Never actually bought anything from there but I've been gifted a Boba tea kit that was pretty neat.

I didn’t like their hand lotion. But, I’m extremely picky about lotion. There’s only one brand I like: Vaseline intensive care, white, or the Walmart knockoff.

With Mrs Meyers’s I found the fragrance to be too strong (along with the texture issues, most lotions don’t feel like they absorb fully and leave my hands feeling weird, but that’s probably my adhd/autism issue, so grain of salt).

Thanks for the link! I love browsing sites like that. Half of the fun of Temu for me is seeing the absolutely unhinged things for sale, especially in facebook ads.

personal life hack: I put lotion on my feet every night before bed, so whenever I am gifted overly scented lotion that feels weird on my hands, it goes into the Foot Lotion Queue.

Feet can handle it. Also feet live far enough from my nose that the scent goes from "overpowering" to "delightful."

I remember when "appreciation gifts" etc. used to be more mug-heavy, so I'm glad the new meta seems to be stinky lotion. Guess what, feet? You're smelling like freesia until this mini tube of hand lotion (that was clearly part of a larger set) runs out!

That’s genius and I’m embarrassed I didn’t think of it, because I too lotion my feet every night. Because I also lack the good sense god gave little green apples, I typically seem to do it before I take my melatonin so I end up having lotion hands and I’m trying really hard to stop doing it like that ffs.

@Greedy Fly, I already said I appreciate the link to uncommon goods, but you genuinely solved a problem I’ve had for a couple years now of figuring out what exactly to get several of the men in my social circle for Christmas gifts. So many great affordable things, and I’m perpetually broke, so this is awesome!

Finally, I am recognized in my own time!

The add-on secret is to look for the Uncommon Goods item on other websites; it's likely the same supplier and many are cheaper.

For instance, if you're getting every man on your Christmas list a toothpick crossbow, the eBay price is slightly over 25% of the UG price.

sometimes you gotta search "q-tip crossbow" or "toothpick dispenser;" I think this means someone lost an eye and they're cracking down

I do the same but did learn the hard way that lotioned feet on a hard floor in a hurry is NOT fun.

I'm a sucker for bath and bodyworks candles and such. The fact i can get my favorite smell as a body wash, body spray, hand soap, candle, ect is just wonderful. Also, their mens line is really top notch and getting masculine body spray for the husband is a lot more affordable than cologne.

Bandaids with fun prints, which i know are for kids but meh, always make me happy. I got the pokemon ones currently.

The growing nostalgia market is just wonderful for me. I wish more Canadian stuff was poppin but hey, I'll take what i can get.

Happy to be of help! I know a lot of men are devilishly hard to shop for. @Aunt Carol 's suggestion to also shop around is the way to go.

Lotion + socks + overnight is my goto treatment for dry winter feet. I have socks with, well, grippy feet just for wearing around the house. It seems like every "house slipper" out there has a thick rubber sole designed for wearing them outside, which is not what I'm after in a house slipper, so I settle for socks. Maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing.

I don’t know where you are, but Walmart almost always has slippers with thin, but still grippy soles. Amazon has a lot of them too, mixed in with the thick soled ones because their search sucks. but try adding “lightweight” or “ballerina” to your search.

I've had this little beauty for a while now:

Tweezerman Mini Squeeze Cutical Nipper, Silver

I use it mostly for hangnails not cuticles and obviously it's not for men only. It removes the bothersome parts so easily and neatly. It comes with a little plastic cap to protect the edges so it stays sharp. Love love love this to use a reddit-ism.
I bought one of these after seeing your post and I want to thank you because these are a godsend.

I just made a thread for this because I have a collection of insane ads that is growing constantly.

Fantastic! The oranges shirt is so bad it makes that loop around to awesome again.

Fancy toothpaste update: Marvis Orange Blossom Bloom has a very faint orange blossom aftertaste, but for the whole brushing experience it's just mint.

Not a bad mint, but not distinguishable from the first mint toothpaste you grab at the store, and way more expensive. It's a shame; I like orange blossom (not the same as orange) and there doesn't seem to be much of that scent in the US.

From the beginning, I did not have overly-high hopes about orange blossom being able to overpower mint; I found this flavor on clearance at a discount store and I do like an interesting toothpaste.
