Remember, he's not afraid of a pesky lawsuit. They welcome it. He can't wait for the day of the court hearing.
After all, they have mountains of incriminating evidence against Vic waiting to come out in discovery and more than 100 gorillion women ready to testify.
In fact, they didn't want to bring this to court out of respect for Vic, not wanting to expose his skeletons and send him to jail,. But now that their former friend has backstabbed them by refusing to just quitely lay down and minecraft himself everything will come out of the closet.

Even if they wantred to settle they'd still have to pay the lawyer to do all that, and more. Before the lawyer can begin to craft a settlement offer for the other side he needs to know exactly what they're complaining about, which is in this case all 400+ tweets + everything else. Besides, what exactly has Soye done to make you think he's not stupid enough to go down swinging?
