It seems a lot of cows have this problem. Phil doesn't have the ability to have real friends because anyone who could be someone's friend wouldn't put up with his constant BS. The thing is to be a friend you have to, at a minimum, be someone that someone else would want to hang out with. Phil has interests that are extremely autistic, self serving, and very niche. He can't even attempt to make friends with anyone who bikes since he can't actually ride even though this would theoretically be the group that would be easiest for him to get into. His 2nd easiest way to make friends, an interest in maps and road signs, is ruined because he mostly uses this hobby as a power fantasy where he's king and have conquered his enemies. This also reigns true for trying to make friends through his interest in body art. No one wants to discuss autistic crayon tats that are loaded with Google Spanish. Finally he could try to make friends via his interest in Spanish culture. Of course this won't work either because he doesn't actually care about Spanish anything. He doesn't speak it, he only consumes spanish foods he finds in Walmart (Anyone remember him constantly taking photos of open bottles of Jarritos?), and I don't think he's ever even spoken to a real Spanish person for any reasonable amount of time. This brings us to the theme of why he can't make friends. Every one of his interests are just to create power fantasies and try to make him feel more unique then all the normal people who wishes were persecuting him. He's made himself intolerable with self imposed loneliness.
