Yes, because even more than 4chan, 8chan struck me as a place where the vibe and general attitude of the posters could vary from board to board, and it was very easy to just focus on the political boards and ignore the weeb and/or pedo ones if you so desired. I don't understand how he has had such a radical transformation in such a few short years. He looked relatively healthy; as healthy as someone like him can be given his condition, back during the Al Jazeera interview. I know poor lifestyle choices, but he was already engaging in a lot of those back then. Did it just all effect him at once?

It is a near-certainty he was approached by federal agents after the Christchurch shooter posted his manifesto on 8chan. This also means it's just as likely they threatened to place him in a high-security breadbox-sized federal prison cell if he didn't share all the information he could, as well as beginning reciting whatever script they gave him.
