You know what's funny? The whole 8chan software jerkoff fanfest. I been thinking about it and I remembered something.

@Null correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a long ass time but when 8chan's software came out, that was a fork of tinyboard wasn't it? The same tinyboard software that whatshisname sperged for god knows how long about? I cannot remember the name of the site, but he and NekoArc were going at it back and forth during the time over names, and the dude who had his version was running it on the shitty ass Kusaba wannabe right up until Fred got a hold of it and "improved" the code and added features.

I swear I should be remembering this, it was an absolute clusterfuck since 2010, and I'm actually trying to remember if Fred wasn't just mooching off of the original TB coder.

  • More about his marriage and divorce
  • More about his finances. Seeing as how he seems to be surviving making open-source fonts and giving interviews, it seems likely Null isn't wrong about him having hit the Bitcoin lottery. Any estimations of how much he's worth?

As far as I'm aware, it's a fork of vichan, which was maintained and developed by czaks, a polish anon who also ran a large polish imageboard of the same name. vichan itself was forked from tinyboard, which was created and maintained by STI, or "savetheinternet" who was a massive sperg in his own right and ran the "4chon" imageboard that gained popularity when moot deleted /r9k/ and /new/. Fred absolutely mooched off STI and czaks work, it's incredibly easy software to work with. He did not do anything revolutionary, nor was his concept even original as the first "make your own imageboard" imageboard was AnonIB around 2005-2007 if I recall correctly.
