President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the federal government's vaccination efforts will shift from mass vaccination sites to "literally knocking on doors" in some instances to get people inoculated against the coronavirus.

"We are continuing to wind down the mass vaccination sites that did so much in the spring to rapidly vaccinate those eager to get their first shot and their second shot for that matter, if they needed a second," Biden said in the South Court Auditorium at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House. "Now we need to go to community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, and oft times door to door – literally knocking on doors – to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus."

Biden's message came after he fell short of his July 4 vaccination goal to reach 70% of U.S. adults with at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. The figure currently stands at just over 67%.

The Biden administration hopes to address concerns causing vaccine hesitancy with its more targeted approach to communities. But it's unclear how the door-to-door strategy will be received – especially among the 10% of unvaccinated adults who cited conspiracy theories or misinformation about the vaccines, skepticism of drug companies or general anti-government or anti-vaccine sentiment in a Morning Consult poll that asked why they won't get the shot.

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 55% of the entire U.S. population is at least partially vaccinated against the coronavirus.

But Biden urged more people to get the shot as the highly transmissible delta variant spreads. The variant makes up about 25% of new coronavirus cases in the U.S. and is expected to become the dominant strain in the coming weeks.

"Right now, as I speak to you, millions of Americans are still unvaccinated and unprotected," Biden said. "And because of that their communities are at risk, their friends are at risk, the people they care about are at risk. This is an even bigger concern because of the delta variant."

He said the variant should "cause everybody to think twice" but specifically the "young people who may have thought that they didn't have to be vaccinated."

Future federal efforts to get people vaccinated during the summer will put a focus on communities, including making the shots available at local pharmacies, family doctors' offices and worksites when possible, Biden said.

Fuck around and find out Joe. I guess "My Body My Choice" only applies to babies in the womb.

You’ve clearly never been to some of the backwoods parts of this country.

There’s places people will pull a gun on you if you roll up at their house to try to take census data, or do a Red Cross health check after a disaster. You think they’ll sit there and just let themselves get vaccinated?
I live in the Deep South and yes I do, considering we threw a tantrum over being told to wear a seatbelt and let the gays marry but ultimately did what daddy government told us to do.

They can't actually. If they could, and they thought they could get away with it, they would have done so already.
"The authority for the state being able to compel vaccination—the affirmation of that authority—goes all the way back to a U.S. Supreme Court case in 1905 called Jacobson v. Massachusetts. That case arose in the midst of an outbreak of smallpox in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1902. Cambridge introduced an ordinance requiring all adults be vaccinated or revaccinated against smallpox. If they didn’t [get vaccinated], they would have to pay a fine of $5.

Jacobson was a resident of Cambridge who, for a number of reasons, objected to the vaccination mandate and brought a lawsuit against Massachusetts for the mandate. He raised a number of arguments, including one that his constitutionally protected liberty interests were being infringed by this mandate.

In that case, the Supreme Court—and —said that states have under their police powers, which is under the Constitution, the authority to enact reasonable regulations as necessary to protect public health, public safety, and the common good. Vaccination mandates constitute exactly that kind of permissible state action to protect the public’s health. Even though it’s 115 years old, this continues to be the benchmark case on the state’s power to mandate vaccination.

In response to the argument about this individual liberty interest, the court said that sometimes individual interests might have to yield to state laws that endeavour to protect the health of everybody—the “common good.” The court said: “The rights of the individual may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint to be enforced by reasonable regulations as the safety of the general public may demand.”

So are you just illiterate or something? Because it very plainly does say the government can tell you to go fuck yourself in a health crisis.

Voter ID laws are indeed racist. They are usually in places where it's harder to get IDs in areas where black people live. I know you live in Oklahoma and thus are sheltered from things like this, but that is how your political party is trying to prevent black people from voting. And because you're a dumb ass, you believe shit like "The democrats are the real racists!"
45 counties in Europe, Mexico and Canada all require IDs to vote.

Apparently everyone except the mushbrained voter base of the Democratic party is capable of acquiring an ID.

Not everyone has access to get an ID. It involves taking time off work during the hours when the offices are open, getting to the office, etc... Not everyone can do that. Additionally, some counties only have 1 office despite being gigantic and it taking a while to get there

You are proof that you can take someone out of the trailer park, but they'll always be white trash.
You have to prove you are legally allowed to work in the USA and usually that involves, not one but TWO pieces of ID, you dumb faggot. If by work you mean slinging product on the street then its extremely unlikely that person is worried about doing their civic duty, of any kind.

I'm sure the trailer park would let you back in if you STFU about rednecks and trailer trash.

If you can suspend human rights with the magic words of "muh public health" or "muh national security", then there's no point in pretending human rights exist in the first place. If your rights can change according to the whims of whomever holds power, why even codify them into law?

The gubbmint might as well just start raping and gunning down randos in the street for fun. Hell, we all know it's what they dream of.

Give them an inch, they'll take a thousand miles.
Look up what happened during WW II. The government's always been doing shit like that. They could do it then and they can do it now.

They also have it much easier to get voter IDs, and voter IDs are not free. Poll taxes are unconstitutional and IDs could be considered such.

You're obviously racist white trash. You should go back to the trailer park so you won't be so scared by having to be around black people sometimes.

Seatbelts and allowing gays to marry are very different things from having a vaccine forced on you, smallpox is far more lethal than the sideways pussy pox is(which means it's not at all clear the SCOTUS would be okay with forced vaccinations for it) and the assorted agents of the state are not immune to being killed if they step over certain lines which piss off the population. What part of that is so hard for you to understand? Are you illiterate perhaps?

Rather than fight with HHH, keep asking me questions about my reactions. I'm all to have a Q&A to calm things down.
I am going to bed now anyway, so they can go back to tardraging about not wanting black people to vote and being terrified of a simple vaccine without me breaking up their parade.

I miss having full access stickers. We'd vote Dumb and move on with farming ratings.
That's because you aren't funny and are probably scared of confrontation. I personally love it because whoopseedoo I guess I have to verbalize my displeasure.

How did you guys manage to take a topic that was already political and turn it gay levels of political by bitching about elections and vote suppression?

We aren't here to discuss how Democrats dream of the Uniparty and rely on dumb inner city blacks to vote for gibs over their own self interests, nor are we here to discuss how Republicans dream of a glorious day where only white, straight, non-Irish men can vote. We are here to discuss how fucked up it is that within a year and a half we have let them use a virus that has less killing power than seasonal flu in people without other severe conditions or the elderly, to expand their power to the extent that they even felt comfortable making this statement.
That's what is disturbing to me, that they realize the seeds of fear they've watered in the wireless masses have born greater fruit than they had imagined, and they're now moving to capitalize on it. They're not even going slow with their plans. Within a year, just within the context of this virus, we've proceeded from using sensible precautions to shunning people for not wearing masks, calls for vaccine registries, vax passports and microchipping, awarding people millions of dollars to get a vaccine and now threatening to make door to door "papiere bitte" stops, Gestapo-style to "educate" people about the vaccines. That's a fairly jarring rate of pace to effectively neuter any semblance of critical thinking in a population in my opinion, Adolf would have been envious.

I think people should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies. Whether that's abortion, masturbating, hopping on steroids, marijuana, getting a tattoo, etc... Body autonomy is a right and that includes a woman's uterus
Whether a fetus deserves bodily autonomy and at what point it should be granted that right is an ethical concern which cannot be "scientifically proven." So it makes sense that the people and/or their representatives would be the ones to make such a decision.

You're obviously racist white trash. You should go back to the trailer park so you won't be so scared by having to be around black people sometimes.
I am around black people right now who are laughing and cussing out your idiotic ramblings as I type lmao

You're the racist, thinking black folks are too dumb to get IDs. One just told me he'd shove his ID up your "cracker ass for being a dumb motherfucker".
