War Biden: Federal Vaccination Effort Will Go ‘Door to Door’ to Get People COVID-19 Shots - No, I'm not gonna get your stupid ass jab

President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that the federal government's vaccination efforts will shift from mass vaccination sites to "literally knocking on doors" in some instances to get people inoculated against the coronavirus.

"We are continuing to wind down the mass vaccination sites that did so much in the spring to rapidly vaccinate those eager to get their first shot and their second shot for that matter, if they needed a second," Biden said in the South Court Auditorium at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building near the White House. "Now we need to go to community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, and oft times door to door – literally knocking on doors – to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus."

Biden's message came after he fell short of his July 4 vaccination goal to reach 70% of U.S. adults with at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. The figure currently stands at just over 67%.

The Biden administration hopes to address concerns causing vaccine hesitancy with its more targeted approach to communities. But it's unclear how the door-to-door strategy will be received – especially among the 10% of unvaccinated adults who cited conspiracy theories or misinformation about the vaccines, skepticism of drug companies or general anti-government or anti-vaccine sentiment in a Morning Consult poll that asked why they won't get the shot.

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 55% of the entire U.S. population is at least partially vaccinated against the coronavirus.

But Biden urged more people to get the shot as the highly transmissible delta variant spreads. The variant makes up about 25% of new coronavirus cases in the U.S. and is expected to become the dominant strain in the coming weeks.

"Right now, as I speak to you, millions of Americans are still unvaccinated and unprotected," Biden said. "And because of that their communities are at risk, their friends are at risk, the people they care about are at risk. This is an even bigger concern because of the delta variant."

He said the variant should "cause everybody to think twice" but specifically the "young people who may have thought that they didn't have to be vaccinated."

Future federal efforts to get people vaccinated during the summer will put a focus on communities, including making the shots available at local pharmacies, family doctors' offices and worksites when possible, Biden said.

Fuck around and find out Joe. I guess "My Body My Choice" only applies to babies in the womb.

Voter ID laws are indeed racist. They are usually in places where it's harder to get IDs in areas where black people live. I know you live in Oklahoma and thus are sheltered from things like this, but that is how your political party is trying to prevent black people from voting. And because you're a dumb ass, you believe shit like "The democrats are the real racists!"
Counterpoint: if you notice in damn near every Blue stronghold, they are urban, populated areas. Said areas often have a majority African-American population. Those strongholds use gerrymandering to their advantage to have one district more voting power for their state representation than others. I would argue that is a form of voter suppression as well as voter ID.

Why do Blacks vote Democrat, you may ask? The common answer is that MLK pushed for Johnson's presidency over Goldwater in 1964. This would inch one step closer to civil rights legislation further than Goldwater. The DNC has been pushing that angle for decades. It's quite as revisionist as the Lincoln freed slaves belief pushed by Republicans.

The whole low informed voter trope has merit.

I live in NYC and if you don't have ID then the welfare office gives you the money to get one. Then you get all the welfare you want and then some. Oh and they sign you up to vote AT THE WELFARE OFFICE because there's a law that says every welfare application has to also have a voter registration application*.

So yeah, because the only poor people are black, right and so they get welfare but if they don't have ID then the welfare office gets one for them and signs them up to vote. It's so very racist.

Your argument, that is.

Come at me faggot

*in every welfare office in every state of the union

Good thing every state has similar laws to NYC. Oh, wait, it doesn't. You literally replied to a post where I showed you that wasn't the case everywhere. I know you're uneducated trailer park trash, but you could at least read the link

It will make it illegal in a lot of states. It's almost almost illegal in Texas.

I am not a moderate, but you're the white suburbanite in Oklahoma saying black people in GA and other states are wrong about voting laws being racist against them because you're a GOP shill
How do you live with your virtue?
I cannot imagine the burden of the world weighing more heavily on you.

I would be somewhat hesitant to claim this. While SCOTUS has held compulsory vaccinations are acceptable, this would fall under ordered liberty. I could understand the smallpox case this was based off of but smallpox has a 30% risk of death for the general population vs. a little over 1% for the elderly. My position would be that compulsory vaccination violates the right of bodily autonomy and for such a violation to be permissible the case would have to significantly surpass strict scrutiny. Smallpox does, COVID does not.
Agreed, I find it highly doubtful that it would be considered constitutional to force vaccines on people for a virus that is only slightly to moderately worse than the seasonal flu.

I'll play devils advocate and propose that he is primarily talking about going to door to door to reminding people about the vaccine or offering them transport to a place they can get vaccinated. Basically the same strategy dems use to farm votes but with a vaccine. We're still a little too early in the game for door to door mandatory jabs, at least in the US.
To be honest, it will likely never get to that point, enough easily persuaded people will likely get the vaccine to get us over the 70% mark and that will likely be that as far as vaccines go, and then everyone will move on to the next thing they have to worry about.

And by the way: all of this from me is coming from a self aware Hillary Clinton fanatic. How's that for a shocker?

@The Last Stand Any Liz Taylor or Katherine Hepburn in that folder?
No, but I'll make a suggestion box and get on with that!

Serious question for you all: what is it that you fear? Why are you so against getting this vaccine?
I'll start, if it was as serious as Flip Flop Fauci claims then the government would have been screaming code red last summer when tens of thousands of people rampaged around in the streets for 3 months straight.

Democrats were willing to the destroy the lives of untold thousands of people by forcing their businesses to close with no assistance for 13 months but had no problem standing in the middle of the street with thousands of people painting roads and holding signs.

The DNC party elite had no problems dining at their favorite restaurants, getting hair cuts, or flying wherever they wanted while threatening crippling fines for anyone else who dared do the same.

The CDC is screaming "impending doom!!!" then six weeks later the country is reopening because Texas reopened and none of the doomsaying came to fruition.

Also if it was as contagious and lethal as the left claims you'd expect the death toll among the homeless and immigrant populations to be beyond count. Portland and the bay area of California should have bodies laying in the streets because there's no where to put them. So why didn't that happen? Look at other respiratory outbreaks like Tuberculosis in the early 20th century.

I'm not one to buy into conspiracies but the inability for this crowd to have a consistent and cohesive message makes it's a pretty hard pill to swallow.

They can't actually. If they could, and they thought they could get away with it, they would have done so already.
Nah, the government already can, it's just that despite what conspiracy-minded folks think, people that are the government are still people and aren't going to do stuff just to do stuff

Oh God forbid people actually have people who are supposed to represent them voting on public policy. What a horrendous threat to our civil liberties!
Removing body autonomy for women is not okay because not every woman would support that. How would you like it if they made spanking it illegal because sperm died?

Keep sucking licking that boot
Ironic coming from someone who was licking the boot hard up until last election

Its a federal law you dumb wigger. As in welfare benefits are paid for by the federal government, as are food stamps, Medicaid, SSI,WIC etc.

Stop projecting about trailer trash, you really are a stupid faggot, I bet even your local trailer park would run you out..

Fun fact:

This GIF from Norma Shearer's Marie Antoinette is my commonly used reaction. It's used to feign an exaggerated sense of shock. Basically, thank you Captain Obvious.

Not everyone has access to get an ID. It involves taking time off work during the hours when the offices are open, getting to the office, etc... Not everyone can do that. Additionally, some counties only have 1 office despite being gigantic and it taking a while to get there. Did you not read the link in my previous post? The Alabama government closed ID offices in a lot of counties. Counties with a high black population. Totally not racist, though, because some white trash on Kiwi Farms said so

You are proof that you can take someone out of the trailer park, but they'll always be white trash.

How would you like to live somewhere that would vote to ban such behavior?
I think people should be able to do whatever they want with their bodies. Whether that's abortion, masturbating, hopping on steroids, marijuana, getting a tattoo, etc... Body autonomy is a right and that includes a woman's uterus

What part of "the government can do whatever the fuck it wants in a public health crisis fuck your personal liberty to be a dumbass" is ambiguous champ?
If you can suspend human rights with the magic words of "muh public health" or "muh national security", then there's no point in pretending human rights exist in the first place. If your rights can change according to the whims of whomever holds power, why even codify them into law?

The gubbmint might as well just start raping and gunning down randos in the street for fun. Hell, we all know it's what they dream of.

Give them an inch, they'll take a thousand miles.
