Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Just proof that democracy is a failed idea.
Democracy only succeeds when the people value and understand it. Ignorance kills democracy, and as we've seen, its very easy to set social norms to require ignorance, and force that ignorance in via the education system. People are complacent with politicians not actually fixing anything, people follow the media to blame such and such figure for problems when they lie elsewhere (The federal president is not going to fund your schools, that's your state problem and you need to give your local officials the boot). Even the idea of picking a person to elect is being discouraged, your supposed to vote along party lines to strengthen the whole movement.

Democracy is fine, its the western societies that have gone rotten. There's no governmental structure that will fix a people that won't stand up for themselves, expect things to be given to them and expect that they can just vote in a person to solve the problems for them. This goes for both sides, sitting on asses and hoping the next candidate on the plate holds the right opinions so they can vote for them.

I could concede that democracy is workable at a city level, and even then that might be a stretch. People are just too incapable of giving a shit about people outside their Dunbar number, and when things aren't affecting you or a neighbor it's easy to not give a shit.

Thats more of a level of power authority. When the higher federal officials have too much influence into the local affairs, thats when you end up with people voting for things on a national level that they want locally, that might fuck over some other area. If those federal officials had no ability to fuck with the more local affairs in the first place, it'd be moot.

However you slice it, the Current democracies have failed to put in and maintain the due diligence to make it viable, on that we agree. The fact that California can vote in a person to a federal office with a mandate to take rights away from Texans is a fundamental failure at every level of the system.

lmao imagine if Hunter and Papa Joe skate by in the public eye on smoking fucking meth and selling the country out to China, but suddenly start facing criticism because Hunter talks like any other millennial dipshit when he's not around his woke friends or POC

If THIS does him in, I'm going to laugh. Racist motherfuckers.

It'a incredible that we live in the Information Age and yet it seems like the average citizen is somehow more fanatical and foolish than your average medieval peasant, however instead of being fanatical about religion the average citizen is fanatical about fucking politics and they are more foolish than the peasant because they get played time and time again by the politicians they shill so much, meanwhile in Medieval Times a Noble couldn't just screw over his serfs whenever he wanted and get away with it because if he did then the serfs would revolt and have him hanged, while in THE CURRENT YEAR people treat politicians like they are some kind of holy figures that need to be respected and recieve unquestionable support, except the politicians of the other side, fuck them they're literally evil incarnated.

My main point is, why the fuck people treat politicians like they are above critisism? They aren't, their only job is to represent the interests and opinions of the people, if they don't do that then they should be removed from their position.
I've always thought that the only way to reliably make politicians actually do what they're supposed to do is through one of the following 2 options, either cut their paychecks OR cut their heads off.

lol nice spate of ransomware attacks, who could have predicted this

Just yesterday a large private sector (administrative) medical services company got hit, one of their employees told me they were all off work because the systems were down after the attack. Expect more of this in the near future. America may have big ship and bitchin' high explosive weapon, but our networks are a hell of a weak point for state actors and criminals to attack. Ten or fifteen years ago most non-tech related enterprises probably had little to worry about from these cyberattacks, but with the massive consolidation of everything onto online systems, and the new (profit motivated- must...grow... GDP!) interest in augmenting every last real-world process with muh internet, this problem is only going to get worse.

Gee, maybe making everyone work at home was a mistake and the government shouldn't have mandated it.

Each state getting 2 senators is somehow unfair.
Needing a majority in the Senate to pass bills is unfair.
President can't just force the Senate to do whatever he wants...

Man, it sounds like they really don't like this form of government.
That's the rub. Ultimately, these people don't really want "democracy," much less a republic. What they want is an Empire - a system where all political and economic power is concentrated in one or a few central hubs, and everywhere else only serves to provide resources for said hubs.

Unfortunately, the information age means that even more garbage propaganda is produced, promoted, and disseminated.

With the Internet of Things, people might have their fucking oven suffer a ransomware attack.
Pay up in Bitcoin or else you will never cook ever again!
Or even worse
Pay up in Bitcoin or else we'll burn your house down!

I wanted to say that after the first major cyberattack on a widespread consumer good, people would flee from unnecessary online devices, but then I remembered people are fucking stupid and would just blame their ISP or something for making such an attack possible, and demand the government regulate the problem away.
