WNBA’s Layshia Clarendon has surgery to remove breasts

Identifies as "transgender and non-binary" (I'm done trying to figure how those two co-exist) but since they're not on hormones, can still play with women in a league that has 'women' in the fucking acronym.

I really don't think most trans want you to take them at face value. If you did, someone would say, "Okay, so you don't identify as a woman anymore, in fact you say you're transgender. Well, it was nice knowing you Layshia." Now by the same token, she's not getting transferred to the NBA and she's not on hormones, so it goes to show even (American professional) sports sees gender identity as a charade. The second she puts T in her system is a whole different ballgame though.
It’s just the same as “Elliot” Page. Actress troons out and gets to keep female role, basketball player identifies as genderspecial and continues to play on female team. Never the other way around though - nobody would dare suggest a male actor continue playing a male role or an athlete continue competing in the men’s category if he trooned out.

Isn't this always the case? Extensive use of angles, lighting, makeup, posture to appear feminine in some picture or video, but the illusion is totally shattered with one candid shot or even a staged shot in unflattering context

There's another dutch MTF I used to think passes well too, Loiza lamers, but this talk here is making me realise that that one also probably wouldn't stand up to scrutiny in less favourable lighting. This thread sure is educational.

Sophie’s management confirmed to the Guardian that the artist died around 4am at home in Athens, “following a sudden accident. At this time respect and privacy for the family is our priority. We would also ask for respect for her fanbase, and to treat the private nature of this news with sensitivity.”
Sophie, a famous troon musician has just died... I wonder if this is a case of 41% based on the wording of the article

Funnily how he's touted as 'a pioneer of a new sound, one of the most influential artists in the last decade.' - pfft, Sophie kind of sound has been around since the 2000s from the groups such as the Knife (which the lead singer also later came to identify as non-binary and shaved her head in a total 'not like the other girl' way)

sorry if I'm power leveling... but what do you do when trans shit has invaded your life at the deepest levels? So deep that saying a single word of reason might destroy your relationship with your nuclear family. We do all the 'right' things, measure our car's oil, make sure the toilet isn't growing black mold, even listen to npr. But all around I am surrounded by trans people begging for attention either from within the family or outside. It's detestable.

I'm honestly at a loss. I've tried so hard, but when I've given a ftm the benefit of the doubt, I ended up forcing them out of my house. I'm afraid to give more information due to my circumstances, but a sibling keeps introducing me to more... and for every one or two that are fine, the rest are completely unbearable. Frankly, I feel like cutting off ties, but it hurts too much to lose someone you grew up with.
I don’t have contact with trans as much as you seem to, but irl I just treat them the way I would treat people who do something I disapprove of.

Like, I have a few friends who smoke weed. Doesn’t consume their lives and, even though I disagree with it, it doesn’t end up affecting our friendship because it’s just a small vice and who doesn’t have those. Now, if said friend started smoking all the time, in front of me, wearing pot leaf merch and trying to convince me smoking a bling will cure cancer, then I’m dumping that friend like a hot potato. Cause at that point you’ve just become and evangelical-pothead and I am too old an busy to deal with evangelical-anybody.

Same with trans. The one trans woman I know, I know from work. Professional, kind, funny. We will talk freely about our families, but she isn’t evangelical, she’s not trying to justify herself she just is. If every meeting turned into trans pride week then I’d just keep it professional cause again, I have no time for evangelicals.

sorry if the advice isn’t great, but you don’t have to frame it as “trans bad”. Frame it as “this person has an addiction and that is all they talk about and it’s not my thing”. And if you do get along with them, it’s ok. Folks with minor addictions need friends too and you might help them stay afloat from the nonsense online.

SOPHIE death: Pioneering musician and DJ dies in ‘sudden accident’, aged 34

she/he was transgender, a decent producer from what i had heard. Dunno if it's relevant to the thread... i do wonder if it was suicide, and not an accident...

-- aah sorry, someone already posted it! sorry!!
His songs ain't bad, a decent producer but his stuff wasn't my thing.

This whole bubblegum bass scene he was in seem like a very depressing reflection of our current society that it's no wonder if that turned out to be a suicide. A colourful marketing lies of catchy sounds that's actually ominous. A self aware acknowledgement of how synthetic and alienated things have become. Transgenderism is part of the aesthetic of the scene too, one half of 100 gecs is also a troon. I remembered Sophie made a point that the synthetic-ness in his songs were a reflection of the synthetic-ness of being a troon. He seemed quite depressed to begin with. I feel.

To me this feels like a early 21th century manifestation of people OD-ing on heroin in droves back in the 90s. The height of opiate epidemic manufactured by our medical industry. Which costed us a hell lot of musicians.. Instead of doctors prescribing painkillers like candies because "people deserved to be free from pain as a human rights!" as an excuse for making quick bux. Now we're telling outcasts and depressed people to sterilise themselves and hook on cross sex hormones in seek of an alignment of soul and body.

There are gendered changing rooms in America (I assume that is where they are)? Or is that just Forever 21 thing there?

Eurofag here, and I can't really think of a store where the changing rooms would be separate (labeled) for genders.

Especially at bigger retailers like Forever 21 seems to be. There is usually one cluster of changing rooms per floor, and while the majority of the floor usually has stock for for one gender or kids (where it's a multistorey store) nobody here is gonna forbid you from entering the changing rooms.

Quite a few of them even have male/female stock on the same floor with the changing rooms for both of them (again, not separated – mixed), with kids being on another floor or whatever combination seems to fit the layouts/space available at each level.

And even if there were – I doubt many retail workers would care about who goes in since they have to stock new clothes, tidy up both the floor and the clothes from changing rooms and even man the tills.

I just can't help myself – something seems off to me about that story.

He's from India. I've been on a bit of a tranny watching spree from there and have a dozen screenshots that I'll probably post in a bit. I'm not sure about them but we have separate changing rooms here in Dhaka. They also tend to be on separate floors in larger clothing stores. Our public life is fairly segregated. We have different metro coaches for the women and separate buses as well on some of the more popular bus routes. India doesn't have as many muslims so it may be different from them though.

Edit: I went looking and here he is complaining about not being let into the women's compartment on the train. Lol. Women get harassed so often on public transport that it was easier to make a separate compartment for them and he is worried about his validation.

Actually, he's located in India, which makes his troon chimpout even more ridiculous.

You can deduce this from his Instagram bio, which says "Gender studies student @ University of Hyderabad". Hyderabad is a city in India.

EDIT: Damn, I got ninja'd. Oh, well.
