So I agree 5000% that if the "choice" Becky made was to remain stubbornly gay, then Norma was a huge piece of shit for throwing her out.

However, I have to wonder if there was more to it. I don't trust Becky as far as I can throw her. Even if the "choice" was something like, "don't bring your girlfriends to family functions," that's still shitty but not quite the same as throwing your kid out for being a gay.

I just have a feeling that the whole thing was simplified down to "my mom threw me out for being a lesbian, feel sorry for me, give me money" when the reality was a little different. Not to defend Norma or anything, since I absolutely believe she was capable of putting her kid on the street (or country lane, whatever) for being gay. I'm just skeptical about how that played out, exactly.

Of-course this is guess work. But anybody that has lived in the south/Bible Belt has probably seen this play out a million times. Esp in the early 2000s. Becky probably came out as lesbian. Her mom said something like “don’t bring that queer shit around here” - Becky was faced with keep her carpet munching low key, or leave. Thats shitty, I’ll admit. But that’s not the same as being dramatically thrown out on the street. I’m willing to bet her mom basically had a “rule” of no fag shit in my house. If Becky wanted to stay all she had to do was be low key about it. That’s just how southern families are a lot of the times. You keep it down low until they warm up to it (sometimes they do sometimes they don’t) and you live with them not speaking on it. Or you move out and wait for them to come back to you. This is basically how it happens like 90 percent of the time, lol. Of course this is speculation. But I’m.... this happens a lot and I’m willing to bet Becky made it a lot more dramatic than it seems. “Thrown out in the street!”
no, not really - but that’s a lot more dramatic sounding.

If that message of Necky threatening Ann is legit, that may well be her own guilty verdict.
She lied about (to probably a lot of people) and Norma outed her in the voice message.

Would some parents do that? Sure, but the kind of person who would throw you out over your sexuality would cut you off, surely? The whole 'no son of mine' shenanigans?
I concur with others who think it more likely that the rule was 'be gay but do it elsewhere', 'my house my rules' and tbh I just don't see a problem with that... ultimately respect your parents wishes and house rules - it's not just parents of gays who have such rules - plenty of straight folk grew up with a 'not under my roof' rule - I damn well did!

Far more likely imo that this is the case (possibly alongside no weed, do your chores etc)

I actually don't think Becky is as lazy as some people do... she's often beavering away in the background of Al's vids washing up, clearing away etc...remember when Bert broke that fucking ugly pumpkin and said "oh Becky will clear that up" or words to that effect?
Their flat is cluttered but there is little doubt about how vile it would be if the butler didn't do the chores because you can be damn sure Princess Reia doesn't do any....

I would imagine from the wording that Norma let slip to Becky that she'd forwarded them to Ann...it must have been between last September and Norma passing away because of the wording...if it had been after I think Thumb would have said something along the lines of 'Mom would never had wanted them made public so best you don't, cos this girl got eyes everywhere' (the hills included methinks) 'and if you do I'll hunt you down like a rabid dog with my possum shotgun'
 
Norma likely had an "Oh mah Gawd, what will the neighbors think! This could hurt my future grifting from church folk!" panic and yelled at Becky.
Becky then probably went outside and paced up and down in the street, punching her fist and being a sped until she had to step over into the grass to avoid being mowed down by a good ole boy in a speeding pickup truck. Hence, the 'thrown out, had to sleep in a ditch' storyline.
 
The pearl clutching about Norma being a dying woman is retarded. The initial GFM controversy was initiated by her being a cunt who regardless of kicking Becky out or not (which is one of the least likely lahs in the Amberverse imo) also befriended Amber's hayder and then wanted to use her audience for cancer coins. Yes it's Amberlynn we're talking about but there's no reason to cast Norma as an innocent victim of the beast now that she's dead. Ann is a cow who is bored now that her feeder is gone

Wouldn't this be more about defending amberlynn and not letting conversations between ALR and NJ get out? Norma saying "I didn't throw her out she had two choices" is hardly a damning statement about becky's story. I don't think anyone believed it as becky told it (sleeping in a ditch? riiiiiight) If the situation went down like "either you're straight or you can't live in my house, my house my rules" a dramatic teen would have been like I'm not straight so I guess I'm leaving and then made a grand exit hoping their mother would be like "no, no, staaaay!!" In becky's telling of the story, her mom threw her out for being gay. Yeah, it's not the whole truth, but it's close enough that becky wouldn't be quivering in snapback about it getting out.

Makes sense she'd worry about ALR's messages getting out because it might tarnish her image and, thus, income. If amber lost money, that's fewer spongebob Tshirts, snapbacks, 90's tchotchkes, for becky. Not to mention, she relies on amber for shelter, transportation, gas and insurance, etc. ALSO, amber is a manipulative bioootch, and probably hounded becky to make sure things didn't get out. Which just goes to show how warped becky is, if I was in her shoes (which I would never be) and my meal ticket was emotionally abusing my mother at her lowest point, I'd get an f'n job and tell said meal ticket to get fucked. I used to think ALR was as horrible as it gets, but these recordings made me realize I didn't have enough imagination where amber was concerned. What a cunt.

What's Ann Doran's part in all of this? Is she bored? Did something specifically tick her off? Was she not bequeathed norma's supply of unsold christmas doo-dads? Next time I see Ann and Curry Daddy in the wild, I'll pump her for info (KIDDING! I don't cow tip and I'm not that interested, plus I doubt I'll remember post-covid)

Exactly. Not to defend the cunts, but plenty of parents are complete assholes to their kids and the kids feel that they dont deserve an inch of respect. Or see them as just a sperm donator and incubator. She or her partner doesn't need to give her special treatment if the relationship was strained and bad. Cancer or not. Honestly, I can't judge Becky if she let's this go because I don't know how bad her private relationship was. Some people don't care about blood if they have been put through shit.

My thought exactly. I always find it strange that people like her gets all puffy but then are too lazy to get a job or becoming a contributing member of society. The Jerry Springer analogy is all fitting for Amber and her.
