I have a similar fear. I, generally, feel that gender roles (AKA identity) have become much more strictly enforced everywhere, not just in the gay scene, and this might be a product of that. Most of them on the r/Ftm subs make zero effort to actually be a man, only hang round other women and seem extremely uncomfortable around men. If these FtMs were treated like men of the same height, appearence, build they'd probably kill themselves. Society gives them training wheels to live out their fantasy. You see them complaining about 'toxic masculinity' and how they can't stand being around men.... you chose to become an effeminate doughy manlet, stop whining about it and man up.
FtMs have minimum checks/gatekeeping from doctors to get testosterone, while low T men have to jump through hoops to get steroids/T perscribed. Even in endevours like wanting to become men women still have it on easy mode like they do everything else.

I suppose it's as satisfying as any other fanfic pairing. Plurals are roleplayers / fanfic writers / fantasists. The plural bullshit is their shared woo doctrine that serves as a framework for their drop-in, drop-out roleplay (so they don't have to actively look for roleplay partner IRL and go into chatrooms to put on their robes and wizard hats, they are always open for business on the open web) and lends authenticity to it (shields against fandom drama).
