Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is caused by either staphylococcus or streptococcus bacteria.

These bacteria normally live on the skin and in the nose or mouth without causing harm, but if they get deeper into the body they can release toxins that damage tissue and stop organs working.

These things can increase your risk of getting TSS:

TSS is not spread from person to person. You do not develop immunity to it once you've had it, so you can get it more than once.

so the bacteria are in the menstrual blood, which normally just leaves the body, but when it is kept sitting in the vag for too long because a tampon blocks it from going out then the bacteria and their toxins build up to dangerous levels and cause problems?

They are sterile, however they are absorbing a waste product which can be favorable to bacterial growth when introduced to oxygen (from the porous nature of the tampon itself) The string can act as a wick of sorts. It is more common in less developed areas of the world where hygiene is an issue as well, so microorganisms can be introduced during insertion.

It originally became more well-known in the 80s when a few brands made and sold tampons designed to be worn through an entire cycle. In hindsight this strikes me as an obviously terrible idea, but I guess it was supposed to be extra convenient. Not surprisingly, you can get really sick if you wear the same one for 3-6 days.

Those types of tampons were withdrawn from the market and now it is recommended that the tampon be changed at least every 8 hours. Rates have gone way down although there are occasional spikes (also associated with high-absorbancy products).

The bacteria could;ve just been on the woman’s hands when she put the tampon in, rather than be in the blood. The important part is that bacteria has accidentally gotten deeper into the body than it normally would, which is why you can also get TSS through a cut or a scabby skin condition.
Tampon packets tell you to wash your hands before and after handling them, to minimise the risk.

The main cause of it was due to tampons back in the 70's that were advertised as long term tampons that could hold an entire periods flow (ew). TSS is generally caused by bacteria, either Staph or Strep, that builds up. So long as you don't leave a tampon in for days at a time you're probably fine.

A girl in my school was in hospital for weeks due to TSS. She was 15 and got unlucky.

Troons want the good parts of being a woman, the threat of dying due to being a woman is foreign to them. Breast and cervical cancer are a huge scare, not to troons. Hanging round the FtM subs somethings they very much have in common with the MtFs is they both genuinely hate the gender they're pretending to be, are comically clueless about their lives and thought processes, and seem have no acquaintances of the sex they're larping as and almost never seem to interact with them. You have women on there desperate to become a man while repeating garbage theories like 'manspreading' and 'the patriarchy'

Most of them on the r/Ftm subs make zero effort to actually be a man, only hang round other women and seem extremely uncomfortable around men. If these FtMs were treated like men of the same height, appearence, build they'd probably kill themselves. Society gives them training wheels to live out their fantasy. FtMs have minimum checks/gatekeeping from doctors to get testosterone, while low T men have to jump through hoops to get steroids/T perscribed. Even in endevours like wanting to become men women still have it on easy mode like they do everything else.
