Sir, that is a contradiction in terms.populist snobbery
A perfect term for the DNC right nowSir, that is a contradiction in terms.
Sir, that is a contradiction in terms.
Nobody tell them the average IQ of black and mestizo people. You know that saying, "by definition half the population is below average intelligence"? The implied conceit is that the people who understand this are above average intelligence.
Now imagine the people telling that joke to each other feel really smug about their own intelligence. You get widespread snobbery; the belief in one's own superiority without proper elitism. It becomes a populist conceit, even if it's not a technical majority's view.
Now imagine that kind of people all agree Trump and his supporters are in the below average half.
Now this is a leak I can believe.Ran across this on Ace of Spades. I SO want to believe he does this just to be a goof.

Yes, and thanks for reminding me. I would think after the last couple, I would be immune to the flu. But I guess the vaccine would give you a little bit of the flu so your body would develop antibiotics to fight off the worse of the flu. Like renewing your anti virus software on your computer. You get your flu shot every year don't you?
As can I, because that would be subtly -effective-. It keeps the people in there on their toes, unsure of what exactly is going on. If timed right, and a businessman like Trump probably can time it right, it puts them off their stride at just the right moment. Negotiations are something that require concentration, confidence, and composure. Even a slight crack in those can mean your opponent can gain a massive advantage. Now this is a leak I can believe.
I think before anyone throws a fit they should wait to see what the new/suggested curriculum actually is, which I know is a tall order for TDS victims. I can understand people might at least be concerned, but immediately jumping to calling it "fashy" is stupid. Personally, I'm holding back any judgement till they provide how they're teaching everything. Just as much as I hate leftists twisting history to suit an agenda I wouldn't like the right whitewashing American history either. One point I'm hoping they fix up is the teaching of WWI, not speaking from any personal experience, but I remember reading an analysis comparing the States and Canada regarding the wars and it commented on the lacking teaching of WWI compared to WWII in American public schools. I'm curious as to how bad the current state of teaching American history is, almost scared to find out because I feel I'll die a little inside once I find out.
Nobody could be retarded enough to think that nukes are launched by a literal big red button sitting on in the open on the President's desk, completely without protection or confirmation. As can I, because that would be subtly -effective-. Its not about thinking its nukes per se, though that little culture-oid is in the back of the mind. Its more about not knowing WHAT it does, and him playing cagey with it.Nobody could be retarded enough to think that nukes are launched by a literal big red button sitting on in the open on the President's desk, completely without protection or confirmation.
... right?
Fair enough. I jumped the gun on that one.Its not about thinking its nukes per se, though that little culture-oid is in the back of the mind. Its more about not knowing WHAT it does, and him playing cagey with it.

Just bumps you right off your game. You intellectually know its not it, but decades of cultural relevance keep it right there, in the back of your brain.Right? I mean, you think as a rational adult "It couldn't possibly be an actual big red button sitting on his desk" and then you walk in and there's a big red button sitting on his desk and your hindbrain goes "Holy shit."
When we didn't get mass deportations of anyone with more melanin than a marshmallow, when we didn't get roaming bands of right-wing death-squads, and when we didn't get gay rights rolled back to the 1920s, people had a chance to stop and go, "Now wait a cock-sucking second..."
