Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Biden/Harris havc the race grifter vote locked up!

Talcum X: Justice for those incarcerated by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!

*Biden chooses Harris as his VP and hints she'll be taking over when the dimentia finally takes hold of him*

Talcum X: Oh lawdy! This is the most progressive party in history! Tough break niggers, I'll be sure to care about you when it's convenient again.

between this and the "i would vote for hitler" bit, libs are really outdoing themselves

I am sure they do. People are woefully uninformed when it comes to history and I am not speaking only young people.

Talking history with people is fucking infuriating.

There are tons of periods and events that I don't know about, and am willing to admit I don't know about. But other people think they know about fucking everything because they read two sentences about it 20 years ago in school, or read an agenda ridden opinion article in the New York Times that refused to cite any sources.

Its jarring to me because when Trump won the nomination, a small but passionate crowd of NeverTrumpers dug their heels in, and to this day concern troll him over shit that does not matter in any meaningful way. Meanwhile a much larger cohort fell in line and kissed the ring, but the likes of Rubio, Cruz and Huckabee didn't bullshit you into thinking they loved Trump. They respected his mandate, that's it. Whereas these pro-Bernie, pro-Warren, pro-Butt fans? They've spent the guts of a year saying how much they hate Kamala and want nothing to do with her. They've almost unanimously accepted her as the candidate-- however reluctantly-- but this won't be enough in their circles. I'm anticipating thousands of them to gaslight themselves into loving Kamala now (see: Shawn King) and doing ill-conceived headgames to make others love her too. Because they realise passion is the only thing that's gonna oust Trump so willing it into being is the only way forward absent a genuinely compelling candidate
There's an old saying:
"As the election year rolls on, Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line."

What I was pointing out was there isn't going to be a mass revolt from the base. These people may be less enthusiastic about Kamala but they're still going to make sappy posts on Facebook and tag dozens of people begging them to vote D this November. With the way Kamala was spoken off before yesterday, you'd think a couple of them would stick to their guns, but the Democratic party quite clearly called their bluff.
As someone sort of connected to these circles, I don't agree. "revolt" probably isn't the best descriptor, but this action will at the very least suppress the vote. Without a doubt. I imagine it'll also further embolden progressives to primary the seated dems.

Regardless of what more publicly-facing figures might say out of some perceived moral responsibility to encourage progressives to vote Biden, people are vocally pissed about the VP pick. Moderate democrats are frequently touting around the belief that young people aren't important to securing elections because they "don't vote," but this isn't really true anymore. Particularly in recent years, millennials and gen z have become the largest voting bloc, and they actually vote more frequently than the preceding generations did at comparable ages (and millennials aren't even that young anymore, most have already figured out the voting process). If the dems fail to motivate this group, as well as other independents that are willing to sit out or vote 3rd party, they could severely fuck themselves over in key states. For whatever it's worth, here in Ohio I know of a considerable number of non-conservative people that are completely disillusioned with the dems.

edit: similarly, I've seen some conservatives online musing about how "ACAB" people are hypocrites because they all love Kamala now, which is almost laughably untrue. tbh, at least based on online discussions, it seems like conservatives have as distorted of an understanding of the dem electorate as the dems do. there are many different groups of people under the "big tent" of the democratic party, and they each have their own motivations and voting behaviors.

Ostatnio edytowane:
Pretty based and I can respect his choice. Don't force yourself to vote for Trump but don't be fucking blind when it's obvious that the Dems are shits this election. Same thing goes for the inverse.

Ya, rerun of Nixon-Agnew vs. originally McGovern-Eagleton. But this time the Eagleton is in the Presidential slot. Remember it well.

Willie - "Kamala's mighty fine! Vote Joe and Da Ho 2020!"

Man, I think reminding people that Copmala was actually an Indian LARPing as a "BIPOC" would trigger some hilarious mental gymnastics. I might just start doing that.

Well, yes. Black people see her as a fucking Poo LARPing as Black when convienent; And the Poos see her as one of their own for two seconds until they look up what she looks like and realize she is Black. So she gets owned from all sides on that angle.

Basically, it seems to me that the DNC is presuming that their electorate is so dumb they will just fall in line.
