The thing about violence is that it is inherently tied to male psychology. For better or for worse, since caveman times, males have evolved to be violent- both to hunt deadly animals for the tribe, and to protect the tribe from predators and other tribes. As people grew more civilized, and when having a jolly good war was no longer possible, men turned to other ways to get their testosterone out (such as underground fight clubs.) Even as early as 40 years ago, you could challenge another kid to a fight behind the school, and more often than not, if you could put up a good fight, you'd become friends with your opponent. This is only my take, of course, but I believe that many male psychological problems can be solved by allowing some controlled physical violence- the martial arts, boxing, fight clubs, etc. Something to get it out, and bond with other men.
Of course, since men like Guillaume Labelle are cowards, they get their violent tendencies out by going after women (because not only will a man hit back, but a man can and will do actual damage. There's a reason the old witch hunts were directed at women.)
