Animal Crossing: New Horizons - It's hard to convince people that I'm not a furry after telling them I like Animal Crossing.

So, apparently the key to get rid of villagers may be the opposite of what all the articles and YT clickbait videos say. This came to mind when, for the second time in a row I've had a villager I like consider leaving. From what I've heard, there's a thing both in this game and New Leaf where if you give a villager too much attention it will have the same affect as actively ignoring them.

I think I'll try that approach and bug the ever-loving shit out of who I want gone and see if that does the trick any faster.

I did have on character get sick of me talking to them once, but they were never the one to want to move out.

Yeah, this seems likely. I had Filbert decide to leave and I've consistently talked to him. Guess I'll be talking to Rasher a lot.

Finally got to 5 stars on Wednesday took a lot of work but it was worth it. My islands finally getting the vibes I've been trying to go for and I'm really digging it.

So I’ve got a massive backlog of various flowers I need to get rid of to free some island space. If anyone would like some, PM me and I’ll give you the Dodo Code.

Also Charlise is moving out today if anyone wants to snag her. She’s that sisterly green bear.

EDIT: gonna nap, I’ll get back to anyone who messaged mein a few hours.

Alright just gonna throw this out there, I'm looking for Triceratops torso - one for the museum, and one for a display outside. If anyone comes across one and wants to trade fossils, let me know about something I can look out for.

Corona-chan made its first victim in my town today.

Still waiting purple tulips to complete the memorial though.

I got an extra DIY recipe today for a manga wallpaper. I don’t have magazines but if someone wants to trade magazines for a recipe (or DIY recipes for magazines if they exist) PM me.

So, I've tried the "Time travel 15 days forward and back" strategy 4 times, and every time I did manage to get a "Considering leaving" bubble, it was one of my liked villagers. I'm convinced at this point that the ignoring strategy is a complete and total farce. Just going to be universally nice to everyone and bide my time because this is getting ridiculous.

I don't see why they didn't just include an option to get rid of villagers where you have to confirm like, four times to prevent mistakes.
Hell, the sheer ass-backwards mechanic of "The nicer you are to your villagers and the more time you spend interacting with them, the more likely they will consider leaving" is a head-scratcher in itself.

Unless it's supposed to be a lesson in how you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and try to get to know people you don't like on a superficial level. Except the mechanics of getting a villager you don't like to leave turns that lesson into a Mobius Strip of fuckery because at that point you're getting to know a villager specifically to get rid of them. Some real hidden dagger shit going on there if you ask me.

Well, the more you interact with them, the more likely you’re approaching them at 2AM in a forest swinging an axe around. And if your style is anything like mine, you’re wearing the hockey mask.
