Slightly OT but are there any actual benefits for using puberty blockers for non-troon purposes? i.e. precocious puberty? I've seen a few troons bring it up as reasons why puberty blockers should be fine, since they have been used on normal kids going through early puberty in the past, but the only solid consequence I can find to skipping blockers for a child with early puberty is that they grow up to be short, as the bones fuse earlier. It seems like puberty blockers are used mainly for cosmetic reasons, and because parents don't like the idea of having a young kid go through puberty that early.

I read upthread that they're used with cancer children, because puberty makes cancer explode even faster than the rest of the body. Basically actual doctors picking the least harmful option. I don't know about any legitimate uses with non-cancerous kids, though.

What a miserable existence. Troons demand - under penalty of all imaginable retribution including job loss, being driven into hiding with our families, threats of assault, rape, mutilation, and murder being issued against us and our children, and every other increasingly sick set of threats they can invent - that everyone everywhere pretend they don’t notice the troon is a troon. Then when everyone is too afraid to do anything except pretend the troon isn’t a troon, they take this to mean they pass...but they also fret about the idea that maybe everyone is just pretending.

Troomer you DEMANDED we lie. You threaten us if we don’t. So yes, we are ALL LYING. All of us, all the time. How miserable it must be to demand to be humored and lied to yet the very thought that people are humoring and lying to them is triggering and sends them into a suicide threat spiral. No way a peaceful existence can be mined from those opposing impulses and desires.

What I find hilarious about these rants against detransitioners is that, these are usually the same people who are like "society pushes men and women to choose different kind of careers, the way our family treats us and how people around us treat us affects how people act and make decisions about their lives" which is fine and dandy because it's good to have different kind of views and theories on how society and people work, but suddenly when it comes to detransitioners it's the traumatized mentally ill people who should have known better! There is no way the world around them could have affected the decisions they make or that people around them could have pushed them to make certain decisions!

Also, at this point being trans is treated like a medical condition. You go to doctor, doctor gives you a diagnosis, doctor prescribes you hormones, and so on. What other medical condition is treated like you should be the expert of said condition and not the doctor? You don't go to doctor to lecture them about other conditions and tell them what to do for you (unless you're a munchie), you go to doctor and the doctor is the one who tells you what's actually good for you. Or, of course, if you don't want transgenderism to be treated as a medical condition, why should doctors prescribe hormones and treat you, why should your transition be paid from tax dollars if it's not healthcare? If it's healthcare, then the doctors have a responsibility over how they treat people.

I have been peeking in on r/transpassing for a while and have noticed that the top few posts are of people that at least look like they pass in the picture. But the rest are just hideous. None them are plain, boring or "normal ugly" like most people you see around you.

I just don't understand it.

Personally, I think when those side effects happen, society shouldn't pick the tab up for them, medically.

Society shouldn't, but the quacks who pulled this bullshit and the pharmaceutical companies who encouraged it and deliberately turned a blind eye to it while profiting, should pay for it. Preferably every penny of profits they made with this bullshit, substantial penalties, and permanent loss of license for the quacks. It won't happen, other than the civil lawsuits part, which is inevitable.

I think the effect is because trying to present as the opposite gender makes people who look average for their sex look ugly. Any sort of masculine feature tends to look very unattractive on a "female" face, and vice versa.

For example, this guy would look completely unremarkable as a guy, but when he puts on a wg and lipstick to try and make himself look "feminine," the blatantly masculine features clash with what your brain knows a woman's face should look like, and in result he looks very, very, unattractive
