if you showed some of Deagle Nation's craziest moments to the average person on the street, they'd think it would have to be fake, because no real person could be as insane as that, surely?

If I'd only ever seen the crazy Jace stuff, I'd never thought he was real either. There's mainly two things that did that: the huge amount of DN content, and the fact that there was quite a bit that wasn't batshit insane (along with the fact that there were at least no large inconsistencies - I can't wait for people to retrospectively find huge flaws in the plot that are gonna make us smack our foreheads, or having those revealed in the Q&A stream).

What's funny is in a few streams during his rages his grimace kept looking like a smile to me, like he was struggling between the two expressions. But if I'm honest I figured that was just Jace enjoying the attention and being manic, by then I was already too on board for the ride. It's great to look back now and think he was internally laughing his ass off.

Aw man, I've been meaning to get into Deagle Nation for a while, but I was kind of intimidated by all the shit I would have to catch up with. Today I was finally planning to ask you guys what are the things I should look at first, but it looks like this whole thing was a :ruse:.

The funniest thing about this whole situation is that we're probably the only demographic who would ever fall for a :ruse: like this. I mean, if you showed some of Deagle Nation's craziest moments to the average person on the street, they'd think it would have to be fake, because no real person could be as insane as that, surely? But we inhabit the world of CWC and Marijan and Brad Watson - coming at it from that angle, the idea that a few dumb stoners could get together and enable each other's delusions in bizarre directions seems pretty pedestrian by comparison. And now for once that jaded internet-veteran approach has taken us all to completely the wrong conclusion. I got nothing to say about this really, I just think it's super interesting.

I dunno, pretty much all of the people who worship Wu's feet and a bunch of her supporting web media outlets bought the whole thing hook, line, and sinker, to the point Wu apparently legit tried to get court action toward Jace. And then Ghazi idiots stating Jace lived in the UK.

Furthermore, MDE had moles with deagledad and other accounts who were "insiders" so in truth, they actively engaged this community with a semi-steady stream of new content. We ate it up happily. The pinacle of DN having to be the fact they managed to convince numerous people on here that some stoner idiot pulled a fucking Mr. Bean smack dab in the middle of the latest crisis in the middle east, and then did it all over again by planting just enough info to suggest Tupacalypse was a meta-level ruse to get Eli way such that a weed growing operation could be set up in his house.

All they did to get Wu and friends to divebomb into that rabbit hole was one tweet from Jace's twitter account and it just fucking snowballed without any effort on MDE's part whatsoever. What took 2 years to convince the CWCki-turned-Kiwi Farms community took, what, less than two months to get an even bigger lolcow thinking they're the illuminati or some shit? I'm not saying many of us weren't ultimately fooled - because we were only too eager to believe it - but the Wu Tard Clan never even seemed to think there was ANY chance of this being fake.

It's still a cruise worth going on, ruse or no.

Personally what got me hooked was his loadout videos, and his video about why Airsoft guns are better than real guns.

Wow, that was short lived (for me). Found out about Jace less than a month ago, but he still managed to suck me all the way into his world of crazy. Well played by all involved.
It was short lived for me, too. I knew about Jace for about a year, but didn't really start following until about three months ago, and I got sucked in. I'm really impressed that Jan could do such a good job playing a character for as long as he did. I was convinced it was real, although there were a few times I suspected something was off. Playing a character on the internet as a way of trolling is nothing new, since Coppercab and DaxFlame did the same thing, but Jan did it better and was much more entertaining, since Jace didn't get old and boring.

Spent today coming to terms with this news, initially refusing to beleive it, but with the announcement of the Q&A stream I'm finally convinced. I gotta say, I'm feeling a cross between incredibely impressed, and proper bummed out. For the past year I believed Jace and Deagle Nation we're real, and every day I would often stop to think, 'what is that crazy dude up to now'
I admired his sense of values and spontanious adventures, and you know what, I guess Jace had some influence on how I'd approach things, so to hear he's a hoax is like a peice of me died. Not to mention feeling a little foolish for being adament he was real to my girlfriend, her daughter and my friends
I've been a big fan of Kaufman for a while so I guess I can learn to appreciate Deagle Nation for what it is, I'm just afraid that now this is out of the box and once the initial excitement dies down, the whole DN craic will peter off and people will lose interest. I for one though, will be watching on in the mean time. I've been looking at a lot of this Sam Hyde/MDE stuff since it was first mentioned here and liked a lot of it, so its not a total (:_(

Oh man, I can't believe this. Like I honestly can't believe this. How could it all have been one big fabrication? I thought the idea that Jace was just putting on an act was dismissed from day one!

To think that everything was done in the name of keeping the ruse going. Jace's racism, Tyce's insanity, the drinking, the dope, the emotional outbursts, the car crash, just everything. This is un-fucking-real. In the end, we were the ones that got #TYCED.
