Actually, they reviewed Alone in the Dark. Unless this review is actually current. Either way, I did hear Spoony isn't for GamerGate.
The Bloodrayne review is a few months old.

Also, despite my sister telling me to watch his Anaconda review, I won't be watching Todd in the Shadows again any time soon.

/baph/ was removed due to court order.

http://arstechnica.com/security/201...as-history-wiped-after-federal-judges-doxing/

Because they doxxed a judge in the Silk Road case.
Archived posts sent to Ars Technica contained the full mailing address, phone number, and Social Security number of Judge Katherine Forrest at the top of a "dox thread" from Sunday, February 8, that contained many other random people's personal information.

They also had a post where you'd pay someone for dox. Ranging from 5 to 200$. And basically nobody was off limits given they doxxed a judge.
The same day, according to archived posts sent to Ars, baphomet's "Board Owner" announced a "doxing for hire" service due to "running low on funds," with instructions that included requests for Western Union payment. This post came days after another doxing thread contained a "Board Owner" post including a person's full information with only the Social Security number being redacted; in its place was a note that read, "selling on Tor [at the moment]."

The Twitter account associated with Benjamin Biddix has also had its history wiped; only one postremains as of press time. A Tuesday post by "Board Owner," which has since been deleted, indicated that the person behind baphomet was fleeing the United States. "I think it [sic] obvious I'm being hunted now," the post stated, before hinting at the user heading overseas to Shanghai.

We have reached out to 8chan's administrators with questions about why the baphomet board's history saw a major wipe of its full history up until this Monday and whether that had to do with the posting of a federal judge's personal details and Social Security number. We will update this report with any response.

Baph's owner is fleeing the United States now and I'm certain that a lot of the regulars on /baph/ might have their information leaked to the Feds.

I know this isn't specifically Gamergate but it's still really interesting to read into.

I honestly don't know if I can bring myself to watch the SVU episode.
The word 'triggering' is one I have come to loathe, but I really can't think of any other to use. I appologize in advance for sounding like a Tumblrina.

Back in school, I picked up a LOT of shit for liking video games more than people thought I should. Oh, other people owned N64's, but I actually LIKED games in general, buying the ones that weren't fashionable.
Add that to generally being socially awkward, this did not make for a good time. To this day, I have a hard time watching bullying scenes in anything.

But the worst came when there was a well-publicized sexual attack. People started joking that it was me, because obviously, socially awkward nerds always become sex attackers. And after a while, it got beyond joking. There were whispers that I'd actually done it. When there was an arson attack at the school, I was the first person suspected, because I was obviously the kind of misfit who would set fire to the place to get back at it. The only reason I wasn't brought in for interview was that my dad was one of the officers on scene, and could give me a solid alibi.

And having the same image of gamers that made my life miserable pushed in the name of entertainment? FUCK YOU!

The lead dev for WoW is pissed.
Being an avid WoW player, this makes me happy.
Edit: The lead for Vanilla at least, which a lot of people remember fondly.

Oh my god.

Did the anti's just piss off the man in charge of the biggest MMO that spawned the entire genre of MMO?

I like the idea of WOW's playerbase rising against the anti's. I'm pretty sure there are more people playing WOW than there are SJWs in total.

Back to the SVU episode, the ending sounds like a typical Law and Order ending: Day is saved, but someone still suffers immensely. I don't see why anyone thought it would end any differently.

No, they pissed of the guy who headed Vanilla WoW and was the producer for Diablo II and Starcraft. He left after that, but that's still a guy who had a hand in a lot of people's childhoods.

There's always been a massive disconnect between how TV shows shows video games and video game culture, and what it actually is.

Kotaku et. al. SHOULD know this.

It isn't really up to the L&O franchise to do anything more than entertain its audience. I'd be surprised if this particularly shitty episode even did that, but they owed nobody anything but fiction.

What Kotaku et al. did is called shitting your own nest and it is an act of incredible stupidity.

It turned out as well as it could, though. What was intended as a propaganda fueled hit piece turns out to make the very people who lobbied for it look like idiots.

Kotaku was calling gamers terrorists before it was cool. Now it's mainstream and that means it sucks.

I'm gonna have to look up that SVU episode. I love, love, love corny/cheesy movies/tv shows (Lifetime movies are an addiction of mine) and that GamerGate episode looks like a corn/cheese goldmine. I mean, a woman who was viciously attacked said that her assailants "leveled up." LOL, GEDDIT, BECAUSE THEY'RE GAMERZ AND GAMES HAVE LEVELS. And the big, bad, faceless entity that the brave WOC of color faces off against is called Redchannit. Fucking Redchannit. A bunch of 50-year-olds wrote this episode, I would bet money on that.

Maybe we should livestream the episode or something and tear it apart together. That sounds really fun.

Oh god. My favourite part is when they're taping themselves beating up the developer lady and at the end the words LEVEL COMPLETE slowly zoom in bright green scare-font. It's so beautiful.

The full Oliver Campbell reaction that Dynastia posted a portion of a few pages ago. It is glorious:
**This is collected from tweets made by Oliver Campbell, in response to Law and Oder SVU episode and the media narrative that informed it. I thought his sentiment was articulate and important to be collated and shared. I hope you enjoy the righteous and deserved fury**

So let's try this on for size: Why the fuck are you shocked that gaming was demonized in SVU, game journalists? YOU TOLD THEM THIS. You, game journalists, are the ones that pitched this stupid-ass narrative to the whole world. You have No one to blame but yourselves.
In fact, let's go over the checklist of shit that game journalists have called gamers:

-KKK
-Terrorists
-ISIS
-Scum
-Less than human

And you have the NERVE to be fucking shocked? Goddamn, you motherfuckers really ARE dense and lack self-awareness. Congratulations. Now, game journalists, you have put YOURSELVES in the position of being the ringleaders of every horrible thing you accused gamers of. Because guess what game journalists: You're terrorists now. You peddle the games. you're the ones that tell everyone else what to play. I bet that ethics in journalism joke ain't so fucking funny anymore, is it? I wouldn't go crying to the hardcore gamers, either. You'll just be met by a Rorschach-style response. "No."

And you know my favorite part of that episode? I'm glad they name dropped Kotaku. Because now people are going to go looking. So I'm just going to sit here and watch you play damage control. What are you gonna do, blame Gamergate? Nah, blame Ice-T :^)

"B-BUT WHY WOULD LAW AND ORDER SAY THAT ABOUT GAMERS?! :'O"
Because that's what you told them. Because that's what YOU told them.

If you needed the reminder: You ARE justified in feeling upset and betrayed by the media. These people have tried to tell you for 6 fucking months to be responsible journalists. THAT'S ALL THEY EVER WANTED. You created a dumb-as-fuck narrative, and now you're goddamn SURPRISED that people believed it. So #gamergategets new delicious memes. Journalists get to look like people that do terrorist propaganda. 'Because women in gaming'.

So. Developers. How do you feel knowing that game journalists just made demons out of you AND your careers? How's that K.O.B.S. coming? And to think; this all could have been avoided with a simple apology, some conversation, and promises to TRY to do your goddamn jobs better. If you had done those things MONTHS AGO, back in August, we wouldn't be where we are. We have gone WAY past those points now. The worst part now hasn't even been the initial fuck-up; it's been your horrible response to negative reader and customer feedback. Now all these people know one undoubtedly true thing about you; you are some SMUG motherfuckers without an ounce of humility in you. When you have hundreds thousands of customers and readers pissed at you, maybe, JUST MAYBE, you need to stop and consider why. Your response? "Let's tell a bunch of fucking lies about them!". That will surely calm them down." Who's fucking brainchild was that?!

And since I'm still here, let's keep talking about that response. At NO POINT did anyone go, "Maybe this isn't working as intended." You kept throwing fuel on the fire and let a bunch of dumb-ass people, people who represent your brands, act a goddamn fool on your behalf. Tell me, has ANY of this hubris and your bullshit lies been worth the monetary hit? We all know Gawker is a few MILLION short now. You've had some of the people with the worst character i have ever witnessed representing your brands, & doing a terrible fucking job at it. In one fell swoop, you have quite literally pissed off every POSSIBLE demographic on earth with this made-up, trumped-up bullshit. I don't think any of this thought it was possible to fail that fucking hard. But shows what we all knew; fail potential is infinite. Every single one of you journalists who have been involved in this situation, have proven to the whole world how much of a joke you are, You have constantly and consistently shown the world that you are hypocritical, constantly utilize double standards, and move goal posts. You have shown the entire world that you are EVERYTHING that represents unprofessional behavior for so-called professionals. If you game journalists are the 'professionals', holy fucking Christ I don't want to see the amateurs.

You have done EVERYTHING at this point, save for one thing: Telling the truth. You don't seem to get it. You don't run this industry, you don't dictate its trends. the people you tried to character assassinate do. You thought you were going to be big dogs and bite; turns out you're just a bunch of puppies with tails between your legs. EVERY single one of these gamers? They're fucking diamond dogs. They bite fucking HARD and are made in heat and pressure. 6 months down the line, and STILL you haven't said, "Maybe we fucked this up." You spit in the face of any journo who suggested you did. Even worse, you got to sit here and watch another journalist from NBC fuck-up big time... and that shit got squashed. FAST. Take a FUCKING HINT. Bigger, badder, way more roughneck journalists don't take ANY of the shit you've pulled lightly. And here's your myriad truth, game journalists: You are a fucking joke to everyone else in the profession of journalism. The punchline. Yeah, gaming DID get set back, but It wasn't the developers OR the gamers who caused it. You did it, game journalists. Thanks for nothing.

Now, someone hand me my controller. It's the one that says 'bad motherfucker' on it.

**Bravo Oliver***

I haven't actually seen it yet, and I won't have the chance to for a few days due to extremely slow internet, but I will eventually, for the laughs.
