How did Silver get famous anyway he's wrong about 9/10 times. You could get more accurate predictions flipping a coin.

You could say the same about Paul Krugman and yet his fanboys quite literally insist that he's never been wrong. Ever.

Basically people like to uplift supposed "educated geniuses" who consistently tell them the narrative they want to hear, because they can then decide they are also geniuses for feeling that way as well.

"He do math good. He smart guy. He say things I agree with. That make me smart guy too. All who not agree with me dumb. Is objective fact. Unga."

I thought Nate Silver made his bones on being a baseball analyst and predictor who then went mainstream with politics? Is Nate Silver any good at picking baseball games anymore, or is he a bum at that now, too?

Oh, and in case anyone was curious: Remember when the DOW closed at 26,279 last Tuesday and then subsequently fell 800 points to 25,479 causing all of that shit-flinging panic about a recession? You know, that thing that's struggling to stay in the news cycles? It's been five business days now and the DOW closed at 26,202 on Tuesday. All of that hair-burning panic has now been reduced to a 77-point drop. That's what everyone was freaking out about.

A fucking 77 point drop. A 0.3% drop of the total value.

Countdown to ThE SqUaD declaring that Plonauld Plaumpfff has caused the economy to drop by 77% and thus needs to be impeached to stop him burning down the reichstag...

Tim Pool did a vid yesterday where he hypothesized the media keeps spreading the idea of a recession so it will actually trigger one and that would be used to defeat Trump, since they can't in any legit way.

Nate Silver was also the only one giving Hillary 87% on election night instead of 98 or 99.9. No one else was willing to admit that President Trump could actually happen.

77?

in 1776 the decleration of independence was issued, the declaration of independence was written by the founding fathers, there were 7 key founding fathers, if you add that 7 to the previous 77 in 1776 you get 777 which is one number above 666, 666 is the number of the beast who once declared he was the chosen one, Donald Trump said he was the chosen one (didn't) therfore donald trump is satan..

Luckily they've been screaming "PANIC" for so long they don't affect the dow as much as they used to. Remember when "Hey, is the media purposely screwing up the economy" was a crazy question? Well it still is, just because now we know the answer is yes.

But also, why is there so much focus on the dow jones? Or any stock index? It's nothing, it's trading cards for rich people. The values are completely arbitrary. Does anyone hold stock for the dividends?

Krugman is so hilariously corrupt. His stances on any given subject are easily explained- whatever helps the mainstream establishment is what he believes. He'll flip flop in weeks and months, and whatever he cites in his articles and blog posts as being true are found to be the complete opposite when you actually look at what he references.

I mean, I actually believe it. It's not out of the realm of possibility.

Bill Maher openly stated that he was rooting for a recession just to prevent another 4 years of Trump ... And his statement was met with applause, so ...

Is there a thread for Nate Silver? He really needs his own.

Nobody is gonna fucking vote for Jay Inslee to go against Trump because some ice is melting.

How can this guy be so exceptional?

He is getting dragged for this yet another hot take though, which pleases me tremendously.
Inslee is a piece of shit. He’s been my congressman and my governor. He didn’t even come close to hitting his goals with carbon emissions in his district or state. He rocks a private jet almost everywhere he goes, and has had very little effect on policy for the enormous amount of time he’s been in government. His state is pissed off at him for running because he’s using state money to pay for his traveling and security while he’s campaigning out of state. All he wants is a cabinet position in 2020 in case a Dem wins. He hates being governor of Washington and wants to go to DC in an attempt to be the next Al Gore.

Wow, almost to 2300 pages. This is probably the fastest growing page in the farms.
I was curious about this so I did a little data crunching. I'm penciling in page 2300 for tomorrow.

I love all of these Republicans starting to leap up to try and run against Donald Trump by hurling insults at him meant to lure in progressive Left voters. Trump has upwards of a 90% approval rating inside of his own party, you're not gonna' fucking beat him by trying to appeal to people outside of the party. All any Republican would end up doing if they ran against him is waste their time and someone else's money.

Bernie is sperging about the GND today. If he really wants to help with global warming, he should be encouraging India and China to lessen their carbon footprint. He should also be in favor of nuclear energy as an alternative to fossil fuels. The GND relies on electric and solar energy, both of which still require backing by fossil fuels to work. This isn’t even mentioning the harmful mining techniques used to create solar panels. Finally, because of the weak alternatives to fossil fuel and threatening of job losses for those that work in coal and oil industries, he can say goodbye to getting rust belt voters.
