To answer the question, though, it seems unlikely given what a terrible job they did with the resources they were given. This isn't a case where you needed to hire someone with a vision; they could grab any seven Wookieepedia editors and have a committee that could walk them through creating the most fanservicy park experience ever made. The problem is that no matter how good the material and concepts are, it's all going to be boiled down to bland homogenized corporate slop made to sell cheap toys at a ridiculous markup.
tl;dr: Disney Wars is to creativity what British cooking is to cuisine.
If r/starwarsleaks, r/saltierthancrait and Wookieepedia itself are to be believed, there actually are Wookieepedos working at the park as Imagineers and at least one or two as clerks. According to Galaxy's Edge concept info, several Imagineers traveled to places like Morocco, Israel and other middle eastern/desert cities and towns, which suggests that maybe at one point the park was going to be Tatooine (although later interviews have them claim that they only did this to mimic the style of Ralph McQuarrie), and according to some possible imagineers posting on reddit (I'm willing to believe a few of these a little since info they posted before the park's release matches up well with what I've seen) they originally wanted the park to be OT and EU focused with Tatooine as the basis, hence the cancelled Bantha project, Smuggler's alley (I'll get to that in a bit) and all the moisture vaporators around despite not being a desert planet, but
according to a Disney employee, Lucasfilm and Disney enforced a "sequel-only" restriction, which would explain why so many initial ideas went unused. One noticeable sign of Wookieepedos and Imagineers having any sort of creative freedom at the park is some of the lore you can get from employees regarding less important items and food which mostly comes from the OT, PT and the old EU mixed in with only a few elements of Disney's stuff, with the exception of character's like Oga and a few other exceptions who are strictly sequel-only. There were also a lot of non-imagineer Disney employees posting negative critiques of the park during the pre-opening day since they were given exclusive pre-opening tickets, so that shows there is definitely some tension going on between the employees and the higher ups.
Also in regards to canon/lore, since the FOX merger, there's been a few odd changes in Lucasfilm's shitty story decision making, for one thing they announced the first piece of Legends media in years in the form of a comic and then they announced that the next trilogy would be a KOTOR-based series despite originally saying it would be completely original and set in a different part of the universe back when it was Rian's trilogy. Is Disney-Lucasfilm getting desperate for fanservice here or did FOX really own part of the rights to these old-canon elements?
Breaking news lads, apparently several sites and tubers are claiming and showing that Galaxy's Edge is very underpopulated or full on lifeless during the day despite this being its opening week during summer. The only time the park is seeing any traffic is at around sunset or at night but even then it ranges from populated to only moderately crowded depending on the day with the only real crowd magnet where people gather being the Falcon. Others are reporting that Disneyland attendance is also low because of GE despite that GE is low too during the day. But the main issue of note is that the supposedly long lines and cues they had set up for entering the park are completely empty so its easy as fuck to get into the park, and even when the streets are crowded the lines for the "attractions" move incredibly fast. Apparently this has also caused some of the restrictions regarding the 4 hour limit in the park to no longer be enforced despite no mention of it being revoked.
Why is Galaxy's Edge so empty so soon after opening? And why is the rest of Disneyland so uncrowded? Let's take a closer look.

So what the fuck is going on you may ask? Could this be a sign that the park is failing to meet expectations or signs of something bigger? People being turned off by the long lines on day 1, line cutting, the expensive prices, or the very low amount of merchandise there's never enough of? Who can say, but my associate is still at that shit hole so I'll contact him and see if he can send me any pictures of his own during day and night for comparison.
