Unlikely. money is money and law is law. Casey has the case and unless mornica are willing to let him go, he's stuck with them. that said, Cowles absolutely can give him limitations on what moves he can do and they can order him to be civil with Ty.Agreed. I can see scenarios where it might be the best career path to move to a smaller firm, say, for instance, if his upward mobility at Kessler had stalled and he had a better chance of making partner at a smaller shop... but it would still have been better to make partner at the larger firm.
Something amusing from his profile about the new firm he's joined... It says, "The firm’s core commitment in achieving those goals ... is to do so with the utmost of professionalism. At Cowles & Thompson, professionalism means character, competence, commitment, and courtesy -- to their clients, to their employees, to their opposition, to their judges and to their community. " Makes me wonder if MoRon might just stick with Kessler Collins, because so far their tactics don't seem to align with the Cowles & Thompson business philosophy.
in other words, whether Casey planned to or not, he played himself because now he has bosses who care about if their lawyers are defaming people and Ty can use that to his advantage. and probably will.
