I can't really buy into this theory from what we've seen of her talks about her boytoy, the way she demands Jared reassure her about it just screams "you agreed to this now tell me its okay."

You seem to be under the impression that open marriages and polyamory happen because two stable people both think it's amazing. No, it happens because one extremely unstable person wants to fuck around and because of the deep bond between these two people, the other gets bullied into going along with it. When someone suggests an open marriage or polyamory, what that actually means is "I'm going to cheat on you and if you say no we're getting a divorce". Most people realise this as well, and prefer not getting divorced because they're desperate to make it work even though there's no hope or point anymore.

For more examples of this in action, look no further than our /r/polyamory thread. It's literally the exact same thing every time. The most fun examples is when the person who coerces the other one into doing it then ends up with no prospects while the reluctant one gets all the dick or vagina or both they wanted, leaving the initial degenerate in a hell of their own making. This is possibly what happened to Heidi with Jared, but it's hard to say definitively.

Exactly. If your relationship loses intimacy and you and your partner have exhausted whatever you're willing to do to restore it, it's time to split. Unless there's an obvious external cause (e.g. life changing injury or health condition), in which case perhaps you become more of a caretaker and your partner allows you to seek intimacy elsewhere since it's impossible between the two of you.

99 out of 100 polyam attempts are what you described: a failed relationship going into an unstable situation that will blow up in someone's face. Even if you have kids, it's wiser to part ways as peacefully as possible, establish two stable situations for them, then re-seek intimacy with someone else. Kids are negatively affected by broken households trying to "keep it together for the kids" rather than dealing with two separated but happier parents.

I have seen stories where people "found out they were asexual" after marrying someone, their partner now has needs that they aren't having fulfilled that weigh on the relationship, and so they try opening the marriage for their partner to get those needs fulfilled while still being with them. Usually it ends up with the non-asexual partner wanting to be with the one that can fulfill their needs, or they realize that it didn't fix anything and get a divorce anyway. This seems to be a subversion of that, where Holly may have allowed Ross to get his needs taken care of by others, but then she fell for Jared after he admitted his feelings for her.

Lesson of the day is, if you and your partner are not compatible, it's better to leave than try something drastic to fix it.

That's the reason I put that in quotes. That is their words. 10 years ago, you would just have said you didn't feel the same way about your partner and didn't find them sexually attractive, but still loved them and don't want to lose what you have. Now, in the day of identity politics, people think "this must mean I'm asexual!" That way they don't feel like the bad guy who lost interest, it's just their real sexuality coming out. Identity politics have fucked up a lot when it comes to relationships. What can just be a natural change in attraction or interest in someone is now a whole new sexuality (or lack thereof). Interests can change, people can change, and it happens without anyone meaning for it to, but now instead of addressing it as it is, we put labels on it that don't belong.

People do fall out of love for no reason other than they just don't feel that attraction any more. People try to hold on because they don't see an immediate, extreme reason to break up, but they don't know how to handle just not loving their partner any more, or not being compatible with whoever they've become.

Agree. In particular, her comment from years ago that Jared "shows her the nudes and they high five about it" came off really weird to me. That sounds almost sarcastic, like she's really saying "of course I don't want my fucking husband getting nudes from his fans." I can't be bothered to go hunting for them in this clusterfuck of a thread, but there were a few old posts of hers that really seem to back up the theory that it was Jared who pushed the idea from the get-go too - and, moreover, that Heidi only agreed because she thought it was her only way to save their marriage.

Primarily, I think it really does come down to the numbers. Heidi is speculated to have only had one boyfriend on the side (the Jeremy guy), and we don't even have confirmation of that yet. There's also no substantiation to claims that she was having sexual encounters with multiple partners on the side - if it was true, wouldn't some of them have come forward, just as Jared's side pieces did? In addition to that, Heidi mentions that she tried a threesome at one point and didn't like it, and that that played a hand in her realizing polyamory wasn't for her. I think that bolsters the assertion that, even if she DID engage in some extramarital affairs, they were short-lived and only done as an attempt to save her marriage with Jared.

In contrast, we have clear confirmation that Jared was fucking with Holly for at least a year, and Heidi's reactions to them in the screenshots make it obvious she thought it was just a fling at first, until she realized that Holly was actually out for her husband and made them end the relationship. On top of that, we have an ungodly amount of Jared's nudes which prove that he was definitely engaging sexually with innumerable amounts of his fans for years, but in fairness, how far it actually went is still not confirmed.

Based on all this information, I think it's pretty obvious who wanted the open relationship, and who didn't - if Heidi had wanted to go out and fuck everyone under the sun, she could have done so with relative ease. So the fact that we only have information on ONE potential side piece for her, compared to the MULTIPLE confirmed side pieces on Jared's part, make me believe that Heidi was telling the truth about not wanting an open marriage, and agreeing only because she thought it would save their relationship.

But people still get lonely and want to hook up, there still exist arranged marriages in parts of the world, and the parts still work. If you stimulate anybody's junk, the biological function to facilitate sex will occur or at the very least you could use lube, so someone could resign themselves to like, "loveless" sex just for the sake of having sex or a marriage or whatever. It probably wouldnt be good for either party though.

Actually in regards to the dick pic, I almost kind of got the impression that Heidi is actually pretty inexperienced, and with dicks in particular. The dude's dick is maybe a bit bigger than average, but it's not what Heidi called a "monster cock"--she even went on twitter to praise it. He's not a porn star or anything. We can give Ross this week. But man, being so unwilling to get involved in drama that you won't speak up when your exwife makes such a claim then deletes it is almost as bad as getting cucked by projared itself. If it's true is he only staying out of it all to save face, cause he know he'd be ridiculed? His ex already said she didnt feel sexual feelings until a walk with Projared, can't get too much lower than that. Still think its weird Holly unfollowed ross pretty recently i guess and even weirder that Jared still follows Ross. The game grumps channel deleted videos with Jared even before the first heidi tweets so either the guy who was doing the investigation at normal boots told Arin about it, and he decided to be proactive about something for the first time in his life, or Ross told them and they deleted it out of respect for him, which would make me think he definitely was upset about it all.

Ross has basically nothing to gain by getting involved in this and a lot to potentially lose. Jumping in the pig pen with everyone else to sling mud will only get him dirty.
