💰 Grifter Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I decided on a whim to take a look at Tumblr and see what came up when I searched Vic. Most of the more popular posts are still reactions to the initial firing of him from RWBY (and one shitpost I found a little funny which was a Qrow RP account going "Sorry if I sound different next time I exorcised a demon from my throat."), one small-time blogger who calls Nick the blackface lawyer/grifter and blames everything on the alt-right, and a supposed "analysis" blog for RWBY (from what I know about her she's really bad at analysis and only cares about the show because of shipping) who didn't even manage to spell "alt-right" correctly.

I'm not gonna bother archiving because I think she's too stupid and proud to realize when she's wrong and delete her mistakes.

She's really hung up on the i09 article it seems.

Ah, rwby-analysis. I know her as a person who likes harassing anyone with different opinions and who genuinely thinks that making a character suddenly do a 180 with their personality and motivations is genius writing up there with the likes of King, Brönte, and Twain. Good to see she's still acting as dumb as ever.

That's actually really sweet. But I guess the question is...would any of them (and other actors) actually be heartless enough to throw him under the bus to save their asses/bandwagon jump? (Caitlin and Aaron haven't said anything as far as I know)

If we want to talk true bros, it'd have to be Reubon Langdon being one of the only people with the balls to talk about Vic being possibly innocent in public. I think the others were too afraid of the backlash to say anything on the matter as if they take a more neutral stance both sides would give them flack. Pretty sure they are just a bit cowardly which honestly not speaking about it is the wisest move. We don't need to know but maybe they texted or talked with Vic during this. I just don't like to assume the worst out of people. But to answer the question I don't think they'd be willing to throw but they might watch as it happens and say nothing.

Reuben regularly talks about ayy lmaos and weird conspiracys, him talking about vic is not surprising

Are they really trying to provoke an unnecessary fight?
I'll say it again:
If Musk actually does something because of these tards, this war will ascend to levels we could not fathom two months ago.
I will die laughing because Elon Musk, of all people, will have single-handedly changed the landscape of anime in North America.

Since this is no longer reality (nor clown world) but just a really crazy, bombastic anime As i suggested like 40 pages ago... I say lets get Trump himself in on this. Donald or Baron doesn't matter which. But to see some of the most powerful people in the world get into a fight over a Fullmetal alchemist avatar would be a sight to behold. I know we can do it.

Regarding the child porn HDD: It's always been my understanding that ignorance is not a defense under the law. Am I wrong/naive here? Can a "I didn't know the gun was loaded" defense actually exonerate him?

That's ignorance of the law. Innocent ignorance that there is contraband in something you own is completely different.

It's still a bullshit defense because I just don't believe there was CP on some drive that he bought and that it suddenly started torrenting on its own accord, apparently by magic.

But has it ever worked? Say I buy a car, and there happens to be narcotics stashed in the wheel well or something. I feel like I'm still going to prison if the cops find it (absent the guy I bought it from admitting he put it there.)

Have we talked much about Sonny straight? Besides being a screen writer at funimation he's has been a va on many of their big titles, including dragonball. So we know he probably has some weight with them. He also worked with schemmel on the disgusting parody skit about vic which called him a pedophile in 2013. This twitter thread explains the skit, but from the oppossitte perspective as us. https://twitter.com/terez27/status/1094195468190564352?lang=en

I'm just pondering plausible responses to being sued for defamation, nowhere on the list can I find this option - Ron Toye today on twitter saying that "Monica came forward as one of the people he (Vic) has assaulted over the past 18 years or more."

I've seen the revolving wheel of questions over the last couple months so many times, I feel like the text was glued to my eyeballs. If nothing else, I do hope it answers these arguments. My sanity depends on it.

"I can't believe Vic would be this stupid. He realizes he's burning bridges right? He's going to go down as the guy who will sue anyone for slighting him."

Answer: Burning bridges? You mean with the same community that claimed he raped and assaulted them, right? In what community is that NOT considered bridges burnt? Bud, those bridges no longer exist. The voice actor community might as well be a Vic-free zone. Too many angry members would chase him out with pitchforks and torches if they could.

"Well, Vic should have just admitted to what he did and moved on. Maybe then he could find work elsewhere."

Answer: The people saying this can't be serious, can they? What job would be happy to hire an admitted rapist? Especially one, as some people claim, who has decades of sexual assault on history? The people saying this are omitting the context that wherever Vic gets work after that, he better not be even in the same county as them.

"It can't be helped. There's decades of sexual harassment, assault, and rape allegations. It's well documented."

Answer: Is it though? I feel like the people saying this haven't actually tried looking. Google searches for video of such incidents come back negative, and despite some sides claiming teenagers "glomping" Vic is somehow proof, it really doesn't prove much. All you can find are ancient recollections of events, but half of them are "my friend said..." and others are "in retrospect, I feel like..." If there were decades of events, then surely there's at least one police report, right? Wrong once again. In fact, there's so much no proof, when the Kickvic side was pressured to produce images, they produced images of Vic hugging and kissing people that weren't theirs, with no context. AND the person who originally posted those photos later came forward and talked about how they were consensual, with a parent taking the photos. Can you say weak?

"Vic apologized, thus admitting he did those things we accused him of. Slam dunk!"

Answer: He did apologize... but not for rape, assault, and sexual harassment. He said he was sorry if anyone ever felt uncomfortable from his actions. A far cry from admitting criminal activity, wouldn't you agree?"

"There was an investigation! Maybe more than one! They prove the accusations!"

Answer: But the investigation we know about came back inconclusive, and included an event where Vic ate a jelly bean. The other two events in that investigation were a consensual kiss and an interaction with convention goers. Sounds pretty flimsy for said decades of assault.

"When the trial comes forward, we'll see all the truth that's been held back! We'll know all the skeletons in Vic's closet!"

Answer: Do you have any idea how much a lawsuit costs? The details of one investigation have already been leaked with no ramifications, yet people are supposedly keeping secrets just so they can go to trial? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't sit on info, get sued, shell out thousands of dollars to have my case heard, then make the evidence public. We have social media now - that info could even be leaked privately. And yet, here we are, with no solid evidence produced. Every day no info appears, Vic looks a little more innocent.

"Well the IstandwithVic crowd is what made the environment so toxic. They were throwing out death threats daily, and making martyrs out of the women who came forward. They're making it impossible for new evidence to be taken seriously!"

Answer: Is that why half of the people still vocal on Twitter are demanding evidence daily? In fact, I've seen more demands for evidence than I've seen death threats by far. In fact, in this whole mess I've only seen one death threat. And just so you're aware, saying "I hope you die" is not the same as "I am going to kill you"

"The case is already up in flames. They call Ron Toye an agent or employee of Funimation. He doesn't even work for them!"

Answer: The key word is agent. Ron is involved in his fiancé's dealings with Funimation. He supposedly knew the investigation before it was made public. Thus, he could be considered an agent of Funimation.

"You'll be proven to be a doody brain when the discovery comes out!"

Answer: Sure, whatever. Honestly I'm betting on a win with Vic, but I'm also not using this case to stay hinged to reality. If a video where he sticks his pokey stick into Monica's stinking crevace surfaces, all while she screams for him to stop, I'll take his loss into consideration.

Can we hold it together through the npc media shitstorm?
This wave of attention troubles me.

So the main moderator for the thread on ANN just dumped this lovely novel. This is basically the person in charge of controlling the narrative on ANN. Basically, Ron Toye says things will be okay, so he believes him. Also they served on a jury one time and they know things.

They also have a thread here, albeit a small one.

Just this alone will be a mini wall of text

Yeah nice 200 word+ essay you got their asshole. Now have a F for Faggot as your score.

Big oof. Doubling down on the defamation while you're in the midst of being sued.

If its not BS that he had bought a second hand hdd theres a possibility of something being on it, cp is the super lowest on the list of stuff being on it even being second hand, and then theres still the whole "this software (that wasnt disclosed but worse than limewire) that turned on and started downloading and seeding content of 4 videos" just doesnt add up, "he also wont talk to the police" when asked, hes fucked

Sometimes. It's going to be a hard sell that someone just abandoned large quantities of narcotics in something, though.

Anyone who has ever worked on computers has found some weird shit on there. It's not at all uncommon for some idiot to bring in a computer for repair and have CP on it and get busted.

So rackets streamed on twitch last night, and he kinda casually answered questions while getting playing Chaosbane. But there was one thing of note:

Happened 1:27:14

He reminds everyone that there was supposed to be a second thing to happen on Apr 15 (Shameful Dispray). He can not confirm if it has or happened yet.
"Some people improperly thought it was covered, but it has not been."

What was stated:
He hasn't confirmed if it's happened or not yet.
He can't currently state what it is, because "it would be a dangerous accusation"
It would make everyone on ISWV lose their minds laughing, and KV "Freak Out, they're going to Freak out"
There's enough content on whatever it is that he will dedicate an entire show.
Only tangentially related to a VA.

So at this point, we can chalk this one up as has not happened yet, but if/when it gets confirmed and he does cover it... it sounds like it'll be another hefty mining of salt.
