"I can't believe Vic would be this stupid. He realizes he's burning bridges right? He's going to go down as the guy who will sue anyone for slighting him."
Answer: Burning bridges? You mean with the same community that claimed he raped and assaulted them, right? In what community is that NOT considered bridges burnt? Bud, those bridges no longer exist. The voice actor community might as well be a Vic-free zone. Too many angry members would chase him out with pitchforks and torches if they could.
"Well, Vic should have just admitted to what he did and moved on. Maybe then he could find work elsewhere."
Answer: The people saying this can't be serious, can they? What job would be happy to hire an admitted rapist? Especially one, as some people claim, who has decades of sexual assault on history? The people saying this are omitting the context that wherever Vic gets work after that, he better not be even in the same county as them.
"It can't be helped. There's decades of sexual harassment, assault, and rape allegations. It's well documented."
Answer: Is it though? I feel like the people saying this haven't actually tried looking. Google searches for video of such incidents come back negative, and despite some sides claiming teenagers "glomping" Vic is somehow proof, it really doesn't prove much. All you can find are ancient recollections of events, but half of them are "my friend said..." and others are "in retrospect, I feel like..." If there were decades of events, then surely there's at least one police report, right? Wrong once again. In fact, there's so much no proof, when the Kickvic side was pressured to produce images, they produced images of Vic hugging and kissing people that weren't theirs, with no context. AND the person who originally posted those photos later came forward and talked about how they were consensual, with a parent taking the photos. Can you say weak?
"Vic apologized, thus admitting he did those things we accused him of. Slam dunk!"
Answer: He did apologize... but not for rape, assault, and sexual harassment. He said he was sorry if anyone ever felt uncomfortable from his actions. A far cry from admitting criminal activity, wouldn't you agree?"
"There was an investigation! Maybe more than one! They prove the accusations!"
Answer: But the investigation we know about came back inconclusive, and included an event where Vic ate a jelly bean. The other two events in that investigation were a consensual kiss and an interaction with convention goers. Sounds pretty flimsy for said decades of assault.
"When the trial comes forward, we'll see all the truth that's been held back! We'll know all the skeletons in Vic's closet!"
Answer: Do you have any idea how much a lawsuit costs? The details of one investigation have already been leaked with no ramifications, yet people are supposedly keeping secrets just so they can go to trial? I don't know about you, but I wouldn't sit on info, get sued, shell out thousands of dollars to have my case heard, then make the evidence public. We have social media now - that info could even be leaked privately. And yet, here we are, with no solid evidence produced. Every day no info appears, Vic looks a little more innocent.
"Well the IstandwithVic crowd is what made the environment so toxic. They were throwing out death threats daily, and making martyrs out of the women who came forward. They're making it impossible for new evidence to be taken seriously!"
Answer: Is that why half of the people still vocal on Twitter are demanding evidence daily? In fact, I've seen more demands for evidence than I've seen death threats by far. In fact, in this whole mess I've only seen one death threat. And just so you're aware, saying "I hope you die" is not the same as "I am going to kill you"
"The case is already up in flames. They call Ron Toye an agent or employee of Funimation. He doesn't even work for them!"
Answer: The key word is agent. Ron is involved in his fiancé's dealings with Funimation. He supposedly knew the investigation before it was made public. Thus, he could be considered an agent of Funimation.
"You'll be proven to be a doody brain when the discovery comes out!"
Answer: Sure, whatever. Honestly I'm betting on a win with Vic, but I'm also not using this case to stay hinged to reality. If a video where he sticks his pokey stick into Monica's stinking crevace surfaces, all while she screams for him to stop, I'll take his loss into consideration.
