Vic Mignogna fired from Funimation & RoosterTeeth over accusations of sexual harassment

Actually, he's a piece of shit for not signing it, but if he does sign it, he's a rapist, too. He has a penis, and therefore, he is a criminal.
I just fucking wish people called out his accusers for harassment too. But in this society, if you're a woman it's all right.

Which is a r.etarded mindset if you ask me.

Why should anyone take any of this seriously when it is so blatant that there was actually a group of people who were literally conspiring to just make shit up about the guy?

EDIT: Also, the accusations of "homophobia" against Vic are 100% bullshit. I've seen zero evidence (in fact, there's COUNTER-evidence online, as you can easily find a video of Vic defending teh geys against some Westboro Baptist Church-esque jerks who were protesting at a con). Just because he thinks one of his characters isn't gay and just because he didn't want to sign some weird kinky fanart, he's a homophobe? Bitch, please.

Imagine if a degenerate male otaku brought a body pillow of his waifu and went to that character's voice actress to sign it. Or if he brought some kinky fanart of that character to the voice actress. People would be saying that the MALE fan was sexually harassing her (and, honestly, I wouldn't disagree because that would be a fucking weird thing to do). If a female fan does the same thing to a male voice actor? Well, in that case, the male voice actor is a piece of shit for NOT signing it, I guess!

Call me crazy, but if I were these fans, I'd feel weird about bringing my spank material and then ask for somebody to sign it.
Keeping in mind that it was well over a decade when I was told so the details might be a little off, and I heard it second hand from someone who claimed to be involved, but I kind of know the story about this one. From what I recall it was some FMA gay pedo incest art he was visibly uncomfortable about and declined to sign it. But it didn't stop there, because they were very unhappy with his 'blatant homophobia' and people actually went to his hotel room to harass him about not signing their fetish art and left gay porn under his door, which made him angry. Angry enough that he complained to the hotel where the convention was hosting and the con got in trouble. Possibly kicked out? Not sure but I know there was some kinda repercussions for the fiasco that soured people to Vic and caused it to turn into a whacky rumor where he tried to 'get yaoi banned from cons', which has now mutated into 'is a violent homophobe'.

The rumor version of this particular story is the only one I know is highly exaggerated, which is what causes me to kinda wonder about the others possibly being just huge overstatements (i.e. "HE GROPED ME!!!" when he really just gave them a hug). Like most things for as much as he has a fandom he also has a hatedom that relish trashing him, so I think it's always a possibility, even if occam's razor says he's probably just a creepy old man.

I was told the story by someone who proudly claims to have been one of the people who printed out a bunch of porn and harassed him at his room, which I think is a weird thing to lie about since it doesn't exactly make you look like a good person either. I can't prove anything though, and I doubt she could at this point either, so take it with a grain of salt.

I mean, when you got people like Jamie basically making what amounts to death threats, you just realize "maybe the defenders are right after all". Only to look at who's defending Vic (neets, 4Chan and AO) and realize "both sides are stupid" and move on.

I mean say what you want about the man and his acting or religious views, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't need any of this shit from either side at this point.

This may have been the first time I've heard of it (maybe, because something about it sounds familiar), but that honestly is something I can totally see what fujoshi would have done ten years ago.

In all fairness, while MarzGurl false flagging Memology is absolutely stupid; that's just literally it. She doesn't come close to coming across as a legendary lolcow compared to MundaneMatt, ReviewTechUSA, Quinton Reviews; or in terms of Channel Awesome contributors; Linkara, Lindsay Ellis, Tony Goldmark, AngryJoe, or Noah Antwhiler.

Thank goodness for people like Memology 101. The fact that people were using that girl's fan tribute as evidence is absolutely awful. Like how evil do you have to be?

Most people can't admit they're wrong...

Fabricating evidence and using fan tributes... this is one hell of a trip. I hope this is what sparks animegate.

This woman is notorious for putting a lot of far-left sperging in the dubs she directs (and for being kind of a shit VA in general)

To be fair the only roles that she is good at are when she plays a perverted character (i.e. Panty), otherwise she has the problem Steve Blum has which is just doing the same voice over and over.

What makes me fucking astounded is that people are treating him like this über-predator serial child rapist when what he's guilty of is essentially not realizing that not everyone's got the same tolerance for physical affection as him.

He's guilty of "great aunt Edna from the family reunion" level shit, not Harvey Weinstein level shit.

they're a little more sterile nowadays than when I hung around (like '03-'13). Which might be why now these accusations are coming more to light. It was just part of the culture in those days, now it's rape.

I remember Anime club was something like that back in High School, everyone did their pervy jokes and pervy things to each other. As people are growing up, you can really see how fucked up everything was. The ongoing fact that Black Butler featured an artist making suggestive positions to the main characters who were not of age and was not tore down at conventions, kinda see the whole double standard. These people would dress up as kid and adult and have their fun and I've yet to see a callout post against the manga. It didn't matter back then! But it matters now?

I wonder if it would be sexual harassment if someone brought Stephanie Sheh some hentai DVDs she worked in to sign...

Oh gawd. That explains her fake cutesy voice.

She sucks as Sailor Moon. She seriously sounds like an old woman desperately trying to sound like a little girl.

As a Sailor Moon fan, any and all English dubs have just been a very long, tragic story of disappointment and wasted potential.

The Sailor Moon fandom is cancer now too.

I have completely separated myself from the fandom for well over a decade now. I still love Sailor Moon, but I seriously have zero friends who are into it ... And at this rate, I'm perfectly fine with that. It's my own little thing that I'm able to enjoy uninterrupted.

It was bound to become cancerous, IMO. The series is full of gay, queer, and androgynous characters. Not that I have a problem with that, but those characters tend to be catnip for ... Exceptional people.

I'm sure there are rabid feminist fans of the series who bitch and moan about its "problematic" elements, too ... Like how a lot of the characters are boy obsessed and how their dreams are to become wives.

And early on in the series, there's a hilarious episode about Sailor Moon being fat and lazy, and how she needs to work out, eat better, and maintain a healthy weight. LOL. The fucking cat even fatshamed her, and it was amaaaaazing:

Yeah, anyway ... I think that #AnimeGate is coming with all of this news about Vic. SJWs want to think they've claimed it, but they are realizing that anime ain't so "woke," so ... Civil War among the weebs, I guess.

Yay. Let's party.

How long until Naoko Takeuchi is declared a tranny lesbian? I give it less than a year.

Mike Toole, one of the lead editors from ANN, is calling anybody who sides with Vic/is reporting unbiasedly Nazis and is trying to get them demonetized.

ClownfishTV did some digging on this guy, and he's a... character. He implied that Vic was having sex with young members of his fan club (which opens up ANN to a libel/defamation suit, lmao) in a tweet. He's also been one of the people involved with Hazukiri, apparently, and he used to review hentai. Curiously enough, he tended to review hentai that focused on teenage girls and has admitted to watching a lot of hentai that involves rape and sexual coercion, although he insists that that aspect does nothing for him.
Video where ClownfishTV discusses the guy- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RY0Hq718Hx4&t=1s&has_verified=1 (they start talking about Mike at 21:20)

I wonder if he's using this whole situation as a way to hide from the skeletons in his own closet. Hmm.

You can say that about everyone really. It's only a matter of time before people start realizing "Hey, these defenders of Vic really aren't all that good either" or "Let's see what skeletons the ANN users/Twitterfags/YouTube shills either slandering or defending him have." I mean they already know the bullshit people like Digibro, Mother's Basement, Jamie Marchi or the ANN crew have. Who's stopping them from exposing others and their nasty pasts to the greater public? Maybe we'll even see some doxing come from either side in retaliation.

So I'm just going to call it now, this whole scandal is going to cause the downfall of the anime industry and fandom in America as we know it. No one is going to come out unscathed from it. Not ANN, not Funimation, not the YouTube reviewers cashing in on this, not any of Vic's detractors or defenders (or anyone else attacking the opposite sides), not any of the voice actors claiming that Vic's a bad guy (especially Marchi, Rial or Kaplan), and not Vic himself if he loses this. If anyone manages to rebound from this, I will be surprised.
