I dunno man, even people who have looming debts like this would do SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Phil hasn’t even lifted a finger. No changes to Patreon, no changes to his streams or his behavior, no changes to his youtube uploads, literally nothing. No incentives for people to give more. It’s just the same thing he’s always done.
Even worse is the fact that he can seemingly just turn his worry, anxiety, depression, etc. off. That’s not something you can just will away, and yet immediately after the begging stream concluded, we get hit with a picture of precooked food on Instagram. The next day he’s joking about dumb shit, acting like a clown on cue, acting as if NOTHING EVER HAPPENED.
I lied, he did make ONE change...
The minimum cheer amount is now 50 bits, and the minimum for the onscreen graphic is 100 bits.

Yeah, I've seen people end up homeless without ever changing anything about their lives.

Best way of thinking about Dark in general imo. Just listen to how he says "things are going to have to change". He says it like it's a bad thing, like he's genuinely offended that he might have to change something. He's got a 10 year legacy! He shouldn't have to change anything! It's you people that changed. How dare people grow up and broaden their horizons. They should be at home all day every day just like Dave, watching all his vids, liking them, donating to Pay-me-tons and subbing and tipping on Twitch.
The idea of him changing anything seems to be blasphemy to him. Even though that is an absolute prerequsite for any entertainment job. The taste of the audience changes, you adapt or you die. He's delusional enough to actually believe he's in the right all the time. He's being hounded by detractors, he's not doing anything to provoke them. YouTube and Google fucked his YT career, he didn't do anything dood. Now, this thing called a "government" wants some money too? Bastards, how was he supposed to know that?

Aside from the points @Destro1986 is making, don't forget Phil's need to preserve his ego at all points. Think about how long he pretended he and Leanna were still together, either directly or by simple silence. His WAkhando is a monument to his ego and need to feel/act like a "real adult" (TM). So it's not terribly surprising that Mr. "I make more than Tevin" is trying to act like nothing bad is happening.

1) Add all the standard streamer text to speech and sound board shit to your stream. Start being an unabashed clown instead of a closeted clown.
2) Fill in all the dead air on your streams. Talk about literally anything, engage with your chat. Have a list of material that you can vamp about whenever you have nothing else to say.

best thing for phil is just selling all the useless crap he bought,sell his car,his house. use the money to pay all his debts and get a good job. i can guarantee you he would not regret leaving streaming. he would make a video saying how much more money he got,how much more time he has to spend with gf and how he is happy to be done with online toxicity

He puts so much emphasis on the Washington Real Adult House, yet he hasn't bothered much with upkeep and maintenance. If he does have to sell the place to cover his arse, he could be in for a shock when confronted with the difference between what he thinks the house is worth and what it's actual market price is.

I still seriously doubt he had any equity in it. Do we really think he got a good mortgage and has been paying significantly more than the interest? Do we really think he had $30k for a big downpayment?
He's probably right though; I bet he'd need $10k to get that house into a state where he can sell it at the projected value based on footage and neighborhood.
Remember when he moved in and he said it had central heat and air? What happened to that central air? Major repairs to that system are likely $3-5k alone.

I've checked the listing on the house. It does not have central air, just heat. He has mold or water damage in his roof that needs to be fixed. When he bought the house the inspector didn't catch it.
how many years has he been in the house and didnt fix the roof issue?what are the odds theres now mold fungus in his roof. how much more will it cost to destroy the moldy roof and replace it instead of just fixing a leak
probably less than 10k IF he were to do it on his own.buy the materials and fix it but odds are phil is too lazy and incompetent and will have to hire a guy to fix it.

One of Phil's many faults is that he's incredibly stubborn. It takes him years to change something that a normal person would in a day or two. Just look at how long it took him to switch from pointing a camera at his television to direct capture. He tried to justify it by saying that direct capture wasn't an "authentic" gaming experience and how people know him as the let's player that points a camera at his television, so making the change would mean people would forget about him. It got to the point where he was the only big let's player not using direct capture that it became a running joke and a lot of his audience moved on because why the fuck would you watch someone that doesn't care about the quality of his product? It wasn't until he was forced to make the change with his camera dying that he actually looked into direct capture. Then he did his usual revisionist bullshit where rather than admitting he was wrong, he claims it was a planned change because he listened to his audience. The truth of the matter is that he unironically believes everything he does is correct and will never change willingly.
Pretty much every suggestion from his fans and detractors alike would help Phil in both the short and long term, but he is so dead set in his ways that he can't bring himself to change because it would be an admission he was wrong. Keep in mind that Phil flat out said during the Thanksgiving begging stream that he would be a top YouTuber like Pewdiepie if not for those damned detractors. If the only people stopping him from acquiring "unlimited funds" are some nudnik trolls, then it's obvious that they have to change, not him.

This is the same reason Phil is begging for money and saying he's done with. With that 16k bill.
He is so used to living the old Youtube lifestyle where he spent frivolously and instead of the emergency he has, I believe, it is all about not downgrading his lifestyle so he can be comfortable.
There so much left for speculations so my opinions on this weird ass cow changes weekly.

Its been brought up tons of times that he did in fact have the roof repaired. You can hear him complaining about the roofers in one of his vlogs involving the garage (green screen vlog?).

while I do agree that Phil would have no clue how to actually search for bugs as a job, he has in fact ran into several legit bugs and glitches during his 10 year "legacy". Just off the top of my head, he fell through the map on Kane and Lynch and sat down there for a whole video whining about it because he didn't want to restart the mission. Also, several visual bugs in games like Assassin's Creed, Witcher 3, and Fallout.
Here is a video of legit bugs just from 2016.
