She won't dump him.

Stockholm syndrome is something a person develops who is locked in one place for a very long time with their captor being their own form of human contact. You can keep a girl isolated for long enough and she may develop a connection with her captor. Heather has Stockholm syndrome. For years she put up with that asshole because she had no one else. Suddenly she's given options. She socializes with others. Stands up for herself.

Yes she's a spineless little caged bird. But the door has been opened and everyday the other birds whisper to her that it's safe to go outside. There will come a day that she'll listen. It just takes a while because as an autist, she's a creature of habit and like her muletted knight in non existing armor, she's not the sharpest tool in the shed. But she'll get there. Look how sassy she's becoming! ;)

Also now there is doubt in her mind after the lovely bearded Dynastia wooed him so quickly. Before she has been told of all the love he had for her and that he would go to any lengths to be with her. Which helped blinded herself with all the other crap he does to her. But now she thinks to herself what happens if someone shows their lovely feet, this time without nail polish, to him? Will he leave her or put her through another awful ordeal. Because every time he mentions his love or how he wants to be together she can't help but think, is he being truthful or is he saying this because it's his only option and if so will he do this to me again, if given the opportunity. And with that doubt she starts to notice all the bullshit he says to her that she never really noticed before. So maybe just maybe she has noticed how the Golden Knight is nothing more than a yellow painted trashcan filled with shit.

Also notice how quickly he wants to be close to her again. It's because he is losing his hold on her and he knows it.

I got bored and decided to have a conversation with goldie over steam. I didn't mention I was from the forums, just that I was someone who recently started reading his comics - which is technically true. He said a few interesting things.

First off was his summary of the drama that occurred between him, Heather and Dynastia:

The Golden Knight: The super short version is, someone *almost* ruined my relationship with my lover. As soon as it made me feel queasy, I pulled out and worked my hardest to make it better with my lover.
The Golden Knight: As for the forum, I put it all behind me, forever.

This feels like a really different story from what he's presenting to Heather. In front of her, he seems repentant and accepting of his role in the whole mess, but when she's not there he shifts the blame towards Dynastia. Note the fact that he said someone almost ruined his relationship - not that he almost ruined it himself.

I also asked him about his comics. According to him, his main literary inspirations are Halo and Call of Duty, so nothing surprising there.

I don't know if it's been mentioned before in the thread, but he also stated that he got the idea for his comics during college.

Boogaloser: Interesting! What about those stories inspired you to make a work of your own?
The Golden Knight: It was the action and adventure and excitement. I've always liked the idea of being a one-man-army, gunning down hoards of bad guys. Those games deliver exactly that. Then in early college, I asked myself: "What if this sort of thing actually existed in Real Life? What would that be like?"

He also stated that while he didn't write the story with a theme in mind, he's tried to convey the "nastiness of politics" within his work. I'll let you be the judge of whether or not he was successful.

Here's a screenshot/transcript of the conversation.

Boogaloser: Hello! I recently started reading your comic and while I was absentmindedly doodling around, looking up usernames, i was surprised to come across yours! I hope you don't mind me adding you?
The Golden Knight: Nope, not at all.
The Golden Knight: In fact, I like to stay in touch with my friends and fans.
Boogaloser: Awesome, I don't add individuals who are semi-famous very often. Your webcomic's really popular in the circles I travel in. To be entirely honest, though, I added you with a bit of an ulterior motive - nothing sinister, I assure you. I was browsing your deviantart and got kind of curious about some coments that were recently posted on your blog as well as that of your girlfriend. Something about a forum or something? There seemed to be a bit of a stink about it, and I find myself getting far too interested in the lives of others at times, so I was wondering if I could ask you about that? I hope that's not too forward or intrusive!
Boogaloser: (I'm sorry I type so slow, I'm really really paranoid about grammar issues)
The Golden Knight: It is?
The Golden Knight: I do not know if that kind of popularity (assuming it exists) is positive or negative.
The Golden Knight: Second, the forum really is a stinky place. I'd rather not talk about it, I'm afraid. It makes my heart rate climb, and not in the way that usually involves excitement.
Boogaloser: Yeah! Several of my friends read it, somewhat casually but still. It's nothing huge, but I heard from people who have good taste that your comic was pretty good, and I'm inclined to agree so far.
The Golden Knight: I'm sincerely glad you like my work. Thanks for taking the time to talk to me about it.
Boogaloser: Alright, would you mind if I asked for a link to the forum so I might read about it for myself? I assume it's a public affair?
The Golden Knight: It's public, but I wouldn't even do that. I do not want to promote traffic to a place that is actively hostile against me.
The Golden Knight: To tell you the truth, if I could have my way, I'll just act like this all does not even exist.
Boogaloser: Oh my, you're piquing my curiousity even more, I'm afraid. I'll try to refrain from asking too many questions about it, but would it trouble you to give me a brief synopsis of what happened? And yeah, I imagine it must suck to have people who are out to get you for no reason. :c
The Golden Knight: The super short version is, someone *almost* ruined my relationship with my lover. As soon as it made me feel queasy, I pulled out and worked my hardest to make it better with my lover.
The Golden Knight: As for the forum, I put it all behind me, forever.
Boogaloser: Ah, I can see why that might be a sore subject. That really really sucks. :/ That being said, I won't pry any deeper than I have - I wouldn't want to make a bad first impression, after all. Would you mind if I asked a few questions about your comic? I'm still pretty early in but a few things strike me as interesting.
The Golden Knight: Thank you. You may ask.
Boogaloser: What would you say your primary literary inspiration is? The art style has a few clear influences that I can pinpoint pretty easily, but what authors would you say helped you find your literary voice?
The Golden Knight: Hmm...The story should be my own, so that's a more ambiguous answer than my drawing. Give me a minute to think.
The Golden Knight: Then again, that depends on which comic you're talking about. I have made a webcomic and my other self-published work.
Boogaloser: I'm referring to Hero Team.
The Golden Knight: Ah, the Web-Comic. The main inspirations from that come from modern First-Person-Shooter games, namely Halo and Call of Duty. It's aimed for a more mature/adult audience.
The Golden Knight: Other than that, I compile what I see and learn, making ideas into my own - as best as I can, that is.
Boogaloser: Interesting! Would you say you have any sort of theme or message you're trying to get across with that particular work?
The Golden Knight: Hurm...That was not something I had intended, really. It was mostly meant to serve as a safe way for me to experiment with drawing. Obviously, it also teases the line of "adult content" from time to time, ideally when appropriate and never more. If I had the drive to get done another hundred or 2 pages, I swear more of the complications would've been fleshed out. In that case, I think the closest thing to a "Theme" involves the nastiness of politics; as in, that's what's behind all the strife in the modern technologically developed world.
The Golden Knight: Also, I am afraid I must run out to dinner with my family right now. It was nice talking to you.
Boogaloser: It was nice talking with you as well! Thank you for your courteous responses to my questions.
The Golden Knight: You're welcome! If you see me back later, we may resume this informal interview. For now, good bye!

Translation: They exposed me for the ratbag I really am so I ran away because I'm a huge coward who won't own up to my mistakes.

All is still not well between our knight and his damsel.

In the 16 hours since then there's been nothing but another long string of smileys.

It's like he's in a perpetual state of trying to latch onto her, but she keeps slipping away from him. I'm just glad she's not giving in to his every desire. He doesn't deserve it.

It used to be that she would slip away, now she kinda pushes him off of her. She is being more assertive and less passive or making excuses when she doesn't want to put up with him.

If that does, by some miracle, happen....

I think he'll act sad for a short while then immediately go find someone else to be his "badass heroine." By leaving him, Heather would be showing that he can't control her anymore.

Although he'd probably phrase it as something along the lines of 'You proved yourself as not EPIC or AWESOME enough to have THE GOLDEN KNIGHT as your boyfriend! He must quest elsewhere for his EPIC and BADASS girlfriend.'
