This loop worked fantastic for Bungie via Marathon - they have hundreds of people playing and only had to layoff like 70% of the studio (so far).

Layoffs and 85 dollars of cosmetic dlc.

They must truly be desperate but at least besides the ads for their other slop products (BUY SHADOWS NOW adverts in the fucking menus) the black flag remaster is pretty decent. Mostly because its, shocking, 90% an old ubisoft game.
