Brainwashed devs don't even have jobs without approval of the higher-ups. They have minimal leverage in that relationship. If anything, it's Larry Fink on the right pane advising the CEO to make the company's games browner and gayer or something bad might happen to their share price.Posting this here because not sure where else to do so. While the image and opinion itself may be bait, I wonder if this scenario has ever actually happened? CEOs and higher ups being backed against a corner by devs who are so brainwashed that they force gay shit into video games.
You’re not wrong, now I’m wondering if any CEO told Fink to fuck off and paid the price? It seems everyone believed him and he bluffed his way into a position of power. If anything, it's Larry Fink on the right pane advising the CEO to make the company's games browner and gayer or something bad might happen to their share price.

They're not "backed into a corner." They delegate. They have 500 products under them, they don't know every detail. They trust you to know what you are doing and execute. A more hands-off CEO will give you lots of freedom, but you go enough quarters without delivering, he doesn't intervene to fix things. He doesn't figure out what is going wrong. He fires the whole fucking lot of you, no, I don't care if it was the devs or the artists or the storywriter or whomever, I trusted you to do the job, you didn't, now fuck off.Posting this here because not sure where else to do so. Make sure you have backups as Bitrot is a thing. You could freely emulate thousands of games and store them indefinitely on a hard drive to access whenever
then where's the part where we kill gods with the power of friendship then? fucking DnD has it...The cyberpunk genre is heavily Japan-inspired.
Give it a couple decades, with corps being the gods standin of course.then where's the part where we kill gods with the power of friendship then? fucking DnD has it...
my dad owned this so i played it as a kid wtf why was it so hard to playBart's Nightmare is a great example of how opaque and clumsy game design was in the 80s and 90s.

Bart Simpson falls asleep while doing his homework. His homework flies out the window, so Bart has to collect those pages in five dream based levels. The more pages and points you collect, the higher your letter grade would be.
Okay, what is this opening level? What am I supposed to do? Why did Bart turn into a frog? Why are these controls so rigid? How do you play? Before you say "read the manual," okay, rent the game or buy it preowned. You're going in blind.
This just sounds like these CEOs need their own equivalent of a court jester. The interview should measure how much of a chud the candidate is and that should be the sole qualification. It can be hard job to figure out who to listen to.
That seems to be how media works now. Major movies are announced 3 years before they hit theaters, usually are delayed so it's closer to 4-5, and then put out a trailer that lays out the entire plot beat by beat so you don't have to watch the movie.I hate this new marketing trend with video games where they'd cryptically announce a game, then remain silent for a while until suddenly some official news comes out.
GTA VI is a major example of that. Rockstar make a statement about GTA VI on their newswire website, then release one trailer on December 4, 2023. Then they become radio silence for two years until they drop a second trailer on May 6, 2025.
How can you announce something then suddenly become quiet afterwards? I think No Man's Sky is the earliest example, but they were quiet AFTER its botched launch for a few months.
Not really, there are good games that would be considered "opaque" by zoomer standards but Bart's Nightmare is mostly a great example of how bad games are badBart's Nightmare is a great example of how opaque and clumsy game design was in the 80s and 90s.
Game isn't entirely bad, but is confusing as starters. Not really, there are good games that would be considered "opaque" by zoomer standards but Bart's Nightmare is mostly a great example of how bad games are bad
wow, it's almost like it is a stealth game about stealing shit where you should avoid being detected since garret is not good at combat but good at stealing, the higher difficulties having the objective TO NOT KILL PEOPLE is another hint...When they're about Garrett being a thief. But then they start throwing ghosts and zombies and pagan cultists with magic at you, and frankly the game is a poor combat game.
And it annoyingly narratively punishes you for using half of your powers or playing the game the "wrong" way - for a "choose your own path" game, it has an annoying tendency to rub your nose in the mess you make if you play the "wrong" way.

the supernatural aspects can easily be dealt with if you fucking read and use explosive/holy water arrows or stealth but with a higher requirement than humans... unless we are talking about that disgusting thing that is deadly shadows, fuck that console shit and the new games are pretty crap too because they wanted to make dishonored rather than thief.
