You said the people who own the buildings make just $100k a year, like owning a whole building in NYC and renting it out and making a grand total of $100k sucks.
No no, as in, multiple people in rent-controlled apartments MAKE over 100k a year. They live in the rent-controlled apartments themselves, they don't own them. It's not the landlords, it's tenants. I retardedly phrased it, and had to go fix it just now. That's a me fuckup.

Socialism actually works in white countries. The problem is blacks and Latinos produce net negative tax revenue which eats into the surplus generated by whites. Not only are they stabbing you they are making you poor and preventing socialized medicine too.

The last time a white only country tried socialism it took the whole world to stop them.
I agree to a point but also the USSR was kind of a shithole (it got better in the 80s though but still aids) but also eastern europeans, russians specifically are fucking insane retards whos export is sex tourism and alcoholism so it could probably work in the USA regardless if we had a heavy hand on blacks/some latinos

Hypothetically, could you have a lease in New York set up where you are allowed to renovate your apartment and if you do a good job they can’t kick you out for like a decade? Like as long as you don’t undermine the structural integrity of the place you can do whatever you want, but you also have protection where the landlord can’t easily terminate your lease? Granted if rent is fixed the landlord can’t jack up the rent for a new tenate so there’s no incentive to kick out the old one.

If you can’t raise the rent, you can at least allow more freedom. I think in Germany or some other backwater has-been when you rent an apartment you have to supply your own flooring and appliances, but you take them with you when you leave

If New Yorkers weren’t idiots you could have a rennisance of having more freedom over your home. Love the location but rooms are too small? Landlord could let you knock out a wall and expand the space.

I actually think that's one of the things that people brought up when Mamdani announced controlled rent. He claims he himself lives in one of these controlled apartments but obviously he's fucking rich lol

Extreme Progressivism is never acknowledging any potential second order effects no matter how much other people they to spell them out for you.

Extreme Conservatism is always assuming that there are second order effects you still have not accounted for.

The problem with modern communism is the modern leftist. They are willing to create a mess, but they are not willing to lift a finger and actually do anything. They are less than worthless, they are a liability. When this shit falls through, and it will, a lot of people are going to be holding the bag.
You do realize the current president of the US is the most tankie president since potentially FDR, but has unconditional support from "right-wingers" that post things such as:
