Some of my coworkers were talking about Pokemon cards today. They're using this app called Arena Club. Apparently you can pay $50 to open a virtual pack of already graded cards, there's an insurance option so the most you can lose it $15 per pull. If you get a hit you can get it shipped to you or resell it all through the app. Apparently these two guys have been making money doing this, just opening packs during downtime at work and reselling the hits. I gave them an executive summary of Phil's foray into card grifting and they agree that it's ridiculous to think that he really pulled that Greninja.

1. He buys the cards for X
2. He writes off the full cost as a business expense, reducing his taxable income
3. He gets paid to open the cards, not sell, so he isnt selling business assets and just pockets pure profit

The missiles won't pass him! The mouth drooling game devs made them too slow. He has no way to outspeed or loop around the missiles. Plus the game is too dark and the rollback netcode keeps dropping his lasers.

A good third of the stream was meandering around Majula looking for the binoculars and stuff.

Oh don't forget to mention for the first half hour he was running around looking for a weapon, then went on a break, came back immediately knowing where a weapon was.

Not only is he handheld by chat, but he's also looking up stuff during his breaks. I'm only pointing this out cause he said he won't be using help for this playthrough.

(I admit maybe he said just "no guides" and in that case it's ok in SemanticSydePhail's mind)

Him revisiting Dark Souls 2 is an excellent way to benchmark just how far things have devolved since the last time he played it. Look how far WE have come since then Kiwisisters. He’s become so much more demonstrably alien both physically and in terms of his behavior. His wife has ballooned to the size of a blimp while he’s turned into a lightbulb-headed Ozempic ghoul. He’s admitted to finessing hundreds of thousands of dollars out of his manchild audience only to turn around and start work finessing them out of just as much for… Pokémon cards, of all things.

What fresh depths of autism and insanity will we have reached by the next (RETRO!) playthrough of Dark Souls 2 in the 2030s, I wonder?
