The west side where he's from is uni town and (in general) is more affluent than the east, especially as you reach out into the McMansions surrounding Blood Tribe land. Compared to other Albertan cities like Red Deer, Grand Prairie, or Fort McMurray it leans quite left given how much the U of L dominates. The east is drug central, especially the NE, and like similar areas is not where you want to be at 3 in the morning.
