There's people in this thread defending the shoot on the man, and I understand where they are coming from but you need to see it this way. What if instead of a old man, a child is running by? Because the cop hears fast approaching foot steps, are they allowed to assume its the shooter and pre-fire? Also, an old person could have a number of comorbidities including dementia or Alzheimer's. So if your grandma or grandpa are in danger and are confused, they deserve to be shot by a panicking out of control cop?
