Easy. She was unwilling to just let Destiny go. Not only did she have no friends AND wanted to keep an eye on Destiny, but i'm pretty sure part of her deluded herself into thinking Destiny would come back : Amber was effortlessly making money and, as much as her face is unkempt and neglected, it's still a little bit better than Dana's. Maybe Destiny would've realized "how good she had it".

Sadly for her, Dana probably showers and doesn't have Amber's personality.
