IIRC this is what ended up becoming windwaker.
Yes, I know it ended up becoming Wind Waker. It ended up becoming Wind Waker AND Twilight Princess (because, after Wind Waker, people kept saying 'We want the realistic Zelda now') but the Spaceworld demo is neither of them, technically speaking. You can see it features the Hero of Time, from Ocarina, wielding the Hero's Shield from Majora's Mask. Therefore we can discern, from what little we're given, that this depicts the Hero of Time after the events of Majora's Mask. Neither Wind Waker nor Twilight Princess were exactly that game.
Oh, also this reminds me. Barely anyone brings up the fact the gamecube ocarina was also a remaster and not just a straight port when talking about the new remake
But it wasn't. They just uprezzed it and modified the HUD so that it matches the Gamecube controller colours, as well as a few other minor, cosmetic changes (like changing the Gerudo symbol from a Muslim-esque crescent moon to whatever the fuck it is now because the Muslims got explosively upset) It's otherwise exactly the same game, just with Master Quest added.
I found this the most baffling part of the weapon system in BotW. I can't really get into the dev's headspace to imagine why they thought it was integral that you only be able to get weapons from scavenging them and not be able to buy any, even though you can buy arrows and armor.
Well, if you think of the old Zelda formula, you can't really buy weapons in the shops. It's a classic case of Nintendo changing one part of the formula and not realising or not caring that they'd have to change the other parts as well. In the old games it was fine because you'd go in the dungeons or explore the overworld and you'd get ONE sword, ONE bow and arrow, etc. So you didn't really need to buy any weapons from the shop
In BOTW you get dozens of weapons and they break. Thus making it completely baffling and nonsensical that you don't have weapon shops that allow you to buy even the shittiest, most basic weapons
So it’s really comparing apples to oranges in this case.
Yes, I know BOTW's combat isn't like Souls. I'm saying that it
should be.
I mean, in BOTW at least, you can create certain ancient weapons provided you have the materials.
Yeah, I thought of that. But, in order to buy ancient weapons you not only need the money but you need to farm guardians for parts. Which requires you to kill them, which requires you to have....weapons!
