Unrelated but I’ll avoiding double posting to honor Trombonista. I think that the reason for all the pearl-clutching is because the Internet has become ubiquitous to many people. More reach means more victims. And unfortunately, parental awareness has not caught up. I’m not sure how long it’ll take for people to learn that leaving a child unattended on the Internet is like leaving them unattended on the road.

I think some more likely reasons the accusations were buried were that the original French-only callout was deleted and outside of being the French Gangle VA, Mathilde "Rune" Carmes / MadStalker is seemingly unknown in the Anglosphere (although I don't follow French stuff that closely, I just know about her because of some French rap battle thing that I mentioned in my post)
