So from what I can gather, aside from the fact it's hard to get Chance to do something he wasn't already going to do, I have a theorized answer with some level of evidence: I think Chance is tone deaf. Big shocker, I know, but what I actually mean is I think he can't comprehend music outside of vocals. Notice how he only ever does vocal covers, right?

He doesn't seem to comprehend how a song without vocals works, and many of his instrumental covers give wonderful instances.

The ocarina is a very strong example of my point. He has no concept of harmony, melody, dynamics, ect. All he seems to hear is "this is the lead vocal" or "this instrument is the one I can hear the clearest" and he just tries to improv play the lead. He doesn't actually know the song, and funnily enough, he doesn't actually care. He thinks he just knows better than everyone else about tonality. He's also just lazy, which is why he doesn't even upload his own music anymore and just does "vocal covers" of other people's music.


Also, unrelated, but I found this video of a younger Chance recognizing that something was wrong with his scalp. The beginning of the end.

To be honest it's quite impressive his ability to screech for hours on a panel having just one lung and a half
