The US Transportation Security Administration will now refer to non-US citizens as “aliens” in its regulations, according to a change announced Friday.

The decision was included in a final rule signed by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

The government said it was making the change to “align TSA’s regulatory language with statutory terms and definitions in the Immigration and Nationality Act,” a law enacted in 1952.

President Donald Trump’s administration has already been using the term “alien” in executive orders and on government websites. The TSA’s change further expands its usage, which some advocates and prior administrations have said dehumanizes non-US persons.

The policy reverses US government moves under former President Joe Biden to reduce the use of the word, such as removing in 2021 references to “aliens” from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services policy manual.

TSA’s change didn’t go through the normal notice-and-comment period required of most government regulations, according to the final rule, because it “has no substantive effect on the regulatory requirements and places no stamp of approval or disapproval on any type of behavior.”

It really depends on who you listen too online. You can do vibe checks online, and you can do vibe checks with your offline social circle, and families and understand that all of those are important. Hell, this thread is pretty good for most of the political side of things, really good mix of opinions here.

I think you're understating it. Orthodox Jews don't do work like this. Their "job" is studying the Torah and the Talmud. In Israel, Orthodox Jews were also exempt from the mandatory military service (which changed in 2024 and is still a huge source of contention.) If an Orthodox Jew has lowered himself to take out the trash, it is very bad indeed.

SCOTUS just announced that Tuesday the 24th and Wednesday the 25th will also be opinion days. As well, March 2nd will be when they rule on whether what other cases they will accept for review

Mint also authorizes the mint to study if a $2.50 coin would be appropriate for circulation. if such a circulation strike series is made it would likely be bronze or brass and probably only stuck for the 2026 fiscal year.

The commemorative strikes will be the standard 22 karat as all U.S. Gold coins. total gold weight will be 0.12 troy ounces and would be roughly the size of a dime. pricing is likely to fall around 1,000USD. The official designation of the $2.50 coin is "Quarter Eagle"

The Bill must also pass the senate, but as it passed with unanimous consent in the house a senate approval is a near certainty.

Reminder that this woman was a communist, a LARPer, and a degenerate. As far as Mexicans of the time were concerned, she was white - German father and mestizo mother.
