loomer just being a goddamn liar
for what it's worth Hewitt's been discussing the Vance=Bad idea, From what I get he thinks there _are_ isolationists in the loop, but Vance isn't one of them unless there's something like "okay Rubio go make invasion plans, Vance go make diplomacy plans just in case we can use that"

Oh I don’t think it’s a bad move. I just dumb reacted you because it’s

1) 8 years too late, housing market is beyond redemption in most areas without the need for a major crash

2) Trump has this gay fundraising tactic for people who autistically focus on niche issues, similar to how he rescheduled marijuana recently. This fundamentally changes nothing but MAGA will seal clap and donate away
Niche issues like the Universal Postal Union? The thing that subsidizes shipping from China to America? Usually these "niche" lesser known issues are important and agreed upon by the majority, so instead it gets pushed down till someone like Trump brings light to it.
The Universal Postal Union is a global organization which sets the shipping rates of individual packages between countries, China is considered a "developing" nation so their rates are set incredibly low, they pay pennies, and the UPU says consumers in America can only pay a few pennies to a few dollars for shipping, in reality the cost is maybe $50 per package, the American government pays for the price difference using taxes and profits form increased domestic postage rates. This is incredibly important issue to small businesses that use domestic shipping and have to compete with SUBSIDIZED Chinese business.
Once Trump brings it up, the media HAVE TO say its a bad idea obviously. Like when Trump said he wanted to withdraw from the UPU before going back on it the media painted it as a bad thing despite nobody caring about it before. Incandescent lightbulb ban was another "niche" issue I can think of.

It was niche to hear people talk about Black Rock and other corporations and foreign business buying up real estate at one point, but at this point everybody is tired of the cost of housing. Immigrants raising housing is controversial to progressives, but corporations doing it is so non-controversial a progressive is fine with that statement, up till they hear TRUMP said it.

So I was doomscrolling Twitter looking for a hit of that sweet sweet dopamine, now that I can’t have my coffee with Scott anymore, and what eventually snagged my interest was a rando complaining about how this or that would lead to a US civil war.

And after thinking about it for a second, I realized that an actual out and out armed conflict like that is EXTREMELY unlikely, because the structure of the military isn’t the same as it was in the 1860’s.

You don’t have exclusively Californians manning bases in California, with an officer corps from California. The state you grew up in really doesn’t fucking matter anymore. So what other entities could a military unit attach itself to, outside of the greater body of the armed forces?

We’re facing insurrection constantly, sure. But the responsibility of those decisions rests entirely on the executives who issue the policies, and they only exist as permitted by caution and optics.

I’m just stating observations, here, it’s not a thesis I’m attached to or have any pride or ego invested in, so by all means, if someone can think of a plausible scenario through which the US could face an actual hot civil war, feed me it

I think an actual civil war would require an entire theatre of command to rebel

The idea of a civil war is laughable. These idiots barely can record themselves on tiktok without dying. If the gloves came off they'd all scurry away like the rats they are. And that's just if only LEO really turns up the heat. If the populace decides the karens and hogans of the world gotta go, it won't take long.
