Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I hated SWTOR when it first came out because all I knew about it was that they ruined Revan, but aside from that I'd say it's one of my favorite Star Wars games. The Old Republic era is such a smorgasbord of story ideas and potential that you can't be too mad at it. It's the best of times and the worst of times.

All I wish is that you could just play how you want. Like, some 9th storyline where you can actually choose who or what you want to be. You know, like an actual MMORPG.

I just like to pretend that never happened and SWTOR is set so far after it may as well not have or in an entirely different continuity. And that the Sith Empire's aesthetics are more Aztec-Egyptian as they were originally portrayed. Also the Sith win and my oc donut steels live happily ever after.

I did this when I tried out the game when it went free to play, but I didn't know or remember you could make the companion watch. I always kind of want to go back and actually beat the game, but it being an MMO puts it very low on my priority list.

Same for me for the longest time until I decided to just buy a month's membership and do it.
I burned out in the second chapter of Bounty Hunter after getting through Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent.

When I tried it out I did the starting quests for all the characters so that probably played a part in getting burnt out when I decided I liked Sith Warrior the best. For the hell of it I tried to see if I could recover my old account one time, but no such luck. One day I'll just make a new account and do the same thing you did.

Having beaten all eight stories (I blitzed them in a bit over a month after the Fall semester ended), I would say some of them are worth playing. Namely:

• Sith Warrior
• Sith Inquisitor
• Imperial Agent
• Smuggler

The rest are fine and I wouldn't say they are bad, but simply aren't notable as a reason to play the game.

The way they force the Knight into having Darth Scourge (terrible name btw) into being a companion pissed me all the way off. I don't want this fucking redback on my team.

Further remarks:
I am told I am in the minority regarding my rather dull opinion of the Consular storyline, though I suspect that was because I left it for last and I was pretty sick of the game by then. But in my defense, the story lacks a really strong throughline that every other main story has, coming off more like 3 different plots welded together, while most of them feel more natural three act stories.
Jedi Knight's most notable quality is that he (and you did play as a male right?) is voiced by David Hayter, which threw me a bit when I played that.

It's very strange how we go from KotOR II's "The Jedi are literally down to the single digits" to Revan's "There's a Jedi Council who Revan is beholden to and has to be careful with". You'd think half of them would be people he knows.

It's not that strange, 1200 years on, and eventually a majority of the population of Western Europe would be related to him, especially given the prodigious number of grandsons and great-grandsons he had. Not to mention the sheer number of Capetians, who derived their legitimacy from being descended from Carolingians, there were and what they got up to. It is more notable that it is recorded than anything.

I just finished playing trough order & survivor. Nothing really to comment on except two things.

Spoilers for anyone who cares.

Spoiler: Complaints

In the end of the first game you fight Darth Vader. It has a really good setup scene where it establishes Vader an unstoppable force. Toying with both Cal and Cere. Cere should have died in that scene Her end should have been after being yeted in to the lava by Vader. That would have been a powerfull moment that set Vader up as someone not to fuck with.

Instead she survives and has an anime style traning arc where she becomes stronger then Vader in the second game. If you don't believe me watch the fight on youtube. She kicks Vaders ass trought the entire fight only for Vader to win by being lucky.

Then he limps away like a beaten dog.


The common cope for this is that she is a jedi master that has spent 5 years preparing for this encounter. But that isn't true Cere Junda was just a jedi knight when the order fell.

Vader/Anakin Skywalker was one of the best dualists in the order except for Windu and Obi-wan Kenobi. For some random ass jedi knight to almost beat him in a battle when he has at this point been 10 years in the suit and spent as many years hunting jedi. This should have been him at his peak after having a lava bath. She should barely be able to scratch Vader.

end should have been after being yeted in to the lava by Vader. That would have been a powerfull moment that set Vader up as someone not to fuck with.

I initially saw the first part of that as clip and thought "Holy shit they made a Vader an actual boss". The good guy gets all angry, charges vader, but instead of that underdog moment yeeted into the lava.I should have known better. The return was just retarded ass girlbossing asspull.
