I would have hoped that Trump would have overtly mentioned in his statement to the public that these were the people that they're working on getting into power if that's the case. The lack of overt pointing to a legitimate, non-military successor government has me worried, especially since he was overtly asked multiple times by reporters who would be taking over, to which he pretty much answered the United States would be without providing a timeline for when civil governance would resume.

I can only hope that this was merely an oversight and that the elected government is the government they will roll with, but the lack of statement mixed with the talks about American oil companies getting involved has me worried.

He did mention them in the Q&A segment. Basically the country needs rebuilding. It has rotted under Maduro. If it is to be a functional nation, it needs it's economy running as much as its government, which means we need to rebuild the infrastructure we put in there for oil extraction 25 years ago. That will take some time.

Quality of life, or global economic prospect, is absolutely an incentive for people to flee their country and is the basis for the now normalized mass migration from poor to wealthy nations. Its sort of incredible you would claim otherwise, considering this has been one of the most controversial and widely debates demographic subjects of the last maybe 60 years.

A small minority of migrants return from a country like the USA to their country of origin. When you think about it economically it makes sense. Even if you intend to retain a link with your home country, earning in USD sets you apart from wage earners in whatever country you fled from. So, if you have managed to attain some official status in the US, it is unlikely you would throw that away. Refugee status is an easier and more legitimate foot in the door than sneaking in illegally, which makes it palatable for a larger number of people.

As for how the war will go expect something like Operation: Just Cause where we invaded Panama to overthrow a CIA trained drug runner president. No one wants to die to prevent the churroing of Maduro and Catholics aren't big into the whole martyrdom thing. A decapitation strike after we decide which military officer makes the most easily controlled dictator followed by SpecOps teams taking out anyone close to Maduro will be enough to secure the country. This isn't Iraq, we don't need to send in 100k troops to control the country.

In short, Maduro's getting churroed within the next six months.
