I don't like America but to be fair, this was quite successful. Third-worldists are not angry because Venezuela lost the war. They are angry because the war did not last long enough to ruin America's reputation. They just view Venezuelans as cannon fodder against America, they do not mind innocent civilians dying as long as it makes America look bad.

of all the problems of military occupation, I really don't see how it could get all that much worse than the literal hellscape the the churro'd created to create a worse refugee crisis than what already exists. Unless the USA fumbles the bag so hard the place erupts into civil war AND decides to intake all the refugees (instead of making the rest of south america take the load), I don't think a refugee crisis is likely.

Lower quality of life by itself is not an incentive to flee to another continent. Americans really overrate how good their country is

It's both insidious and surprisingly genius (for a bunch of camel sodomizing desert caravan raiders) how effective the islamic cultural control apparatus is. But, the quran is extremely short, and very little of the quran itself is about muhammad, so how is a muslim supposed to do that? Enter the hadith, which are essentially collections of biographical snippets about the supposed life of muhammad. While the historical backing of the average hadith is less than zero, they're still treated as authoritative by islam. Problem though, there are collections of hadith large enough to dwarf every single book ever written about 40k lore combined, and while different sects debate over which specific collections are valid, each one of them has absolutely massive volumes. There's no way for an average muslim to actually know what's even said in all those unless they devote their entire lives to it, so they have two choices. Become an imam, or shut up and listen to everything their imam says is in the hadith.
