So I guess I could ask that if Nixon was a good president and not some loser who deserved to resign?
Educate me, I'm really not gonna trust the public history books anymore.
Nixon tried to do what Trump is doing now: he wanted to get out of wars, he wanted to eliminate bureaucracy, he wanted to rein in the intelligence agencies, and he wanted to return a lot of power to the states. That's why they did him dirty. Nixon spying on his political opponent was the justification.

He did spy on his political opponent, but guess what? LBJ spied on Goldwater, Eisenhower spied on JFK, and so on. Nixon won 60% of the popular vote and smashed McGovern in 1972, so there was no way for members of Congress and the media to undo Nixon's mandate without some absolute horseshit. Never forget that Bob Woodward was a Navy spook and Carl Bernstein was a literal who. If anything, Watergate was more about John Mitchell, the Attorney General, but the powers that be exploited it to oust Nixon. It was a shot across the bow to every politician since not to mess with the embedded bureaucracy or the US intelligence community.

Nixon was smarter then media of the time painted him to be but with the benefit of hindsight the Watergate break-in seems like it was pointless considering the total landslide election of 1972. Where he messed up the most I think is seemingly leaving evidence in as many places as possible by installing a taping system in the White House which just made the whole investigation a field day for the prosecutors and news outlets that already didn't like him.

That doesn't stop anybody from walking about on the streets or being outside during a thunderstorm though.
You're a retard.

When a thunderstorm rolls in you 100% get under cover or out of the water and every sensible white person avoids the black parts of town for this very reason.

Tweet please? I do not roam Xitter

I'll see what I can wrangle but don't hold your breath

also lol time for the people who totally go outside to worry about what might happen if weed was sold on every corner

This reminds me of the 1972 electoral map

Wtf is wrong with you massholes?! Maybe read the room some time

Drugs, troonery, faggotry, and niggers are all just one big lolbert loogie. You can't just politely spit out a little bit. Free yourself and let that demon jewel fly into the filth were it belongs.
Everyone i know who smokes weed regularly is either an insufferable, worthless loser or a nigger. no community has never been improved by having a pot dispensary.

On one hand the taping system royally fucked him over, but on the other hand it also produced kino like this:

Ok so what positive thing does weed do?
It makes you think about da mothafuckin planets and shit, it makes you ponder da stars…

Just sedates you, that’s it. It also reduces inflammation apparently for people with Crohns and colitis I think as well which reduces symptoms since those diseases are just inflammation.

Tell that to the people who get struck by lightning, not me lol

In the news of arts and theater, the the Kennedy Center board has voted to rename itself the Trump-Kennedy Center.

From an article on the matter:
Congress passes a bullshit resolution way back that Trump isn't allowed to name any new buildings after himself, so he curls the monkey paw on them and renames an existing one that has the name of one of the most iconic Democrats. I love it

Apparently the original idea for installing it was due to Nixon worrying that his presidency would not be sufficiently preserved for posterity. It certainly worked in that regard. The system must've been a pet project for him considering that the White House Communication Agency, his Secretary of State and personal Secretary didn't even know it existed.

The EPA may have gone off the rails, but in 1972 industry just polluted indiscriminately. There are now water bodies you can swim in or fish in that were toxic dumps back in the 1970s. Nixon wasn't as bad as the press made out.

Nixon was an overall good president that suffered from some arguably minor character flaws and was absolutely despised by the media establishment and their footsoldiers, the parallels to Trump are striking

JFK installed the first secret taping system throughout the White House seven years before Nixon got there.
